Default BETA TEST: Stage 2 and 3 maps (USDM only for now)

Hey folks it's Mike here. I've recently taken on Mazda calibration at COBB and made a few tweaks to existing OTS maps for stage 2 and 3 cars related to boost control. I've done so based on customer feedback, especially from cold climates, that some cars are over boosting significantly. While the Accessport allows for tweaking of wastegate duty cycle at time of reflash, the updates in these new OTS files will likely make those adjustments unnecessary and offer greater precision of boost control.

If interested, please email: mazda.beta@cobbtuning.com with your name, year/model vehicle, AP serial number and mods list. If your vehicle has the appropriate parts for use with COBB OTS stage 2 or 3 maps (listed below) I'll provide you with free beta maps for testing. In return, I expect anyone taking advantage of this beta map program to email me logs and feedback. That way I know if these maps are an improvement for you guys before we release them publicly.

Stage2 Parts Required:
COBB SF Intake, COBB Turbo Inlet Hose (TIH), Autotech High Volume Fuel Pump (CDFP), COBB Catback exhaust and COBB High Flow Downpipe. Stock engine, turbo, intercooler.

Stage3 Parts Required:
COBB SF Intake, COBB Turbo Inlet Hose (TIH), Autotech High Volume Fuel Pump (CDFP), COBB Catback exhaust and COBB High Flow Downpipe, COBB Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC). Stock engine and turbo.

Correct. The biggest one is tiny compared to a 7685. You must be going for 4 digits.

Do you have a COBB stage 2 or 3 setup? Let me know what you have and hopefully one of the updated maps can help!

edit: I just saw the mods mentioned in your signature. With your combination of the catless downpipe, upgraded intake, unfortunately the stock turbo is likely to experience significant boost creep especially in the cold, and there's only so much you can do about that in the tune. The new OTS files are only designed for use with a COBB catted downpipe, but they do have the ability to bring the boost controller all the way down to 0% duty cycle (off), if necessary, in order to counteract boost creep. Since boost creep is a mechanically induced condition, it can only be truly fixed mechanically. Tuning can only band-aid it some. Switching to a catted downpipe helps some, porting the wastegate outlet on the turbine housing can help some, reinstalling a stock cat back reduces boost creep as well to give you a few ideas. Worst case, you could always move away from cold weather as I did.

Lol true. Ya I have a very very modded stage 3ish map. But, will go custom time in the spring. I'll just keep my foot out of it for a while longer as i usually do.

Are you basically allowing the ECU to pull 100% WGDC in overboost conditions, or is there new logic being introduced to support this?
