you wired all 4 coilpacks in? set it to 4 cyl 4 stroke?
if all the connections are soldered well and the ground is good, you can call splitsecond.
they were helpful in my install.

The left wire is tapped only on the 4th coil pack like a newer kit.. Kozmic motorsports installed the kit so it's done right but the split second box dosent have the trigger circuit in it like the new kits have. I need one so I can tap all the coil packs to the coil circuit then to the box.

Edit.. also it's In 2 cylinder 2 stroke mode like perm recommends. Bringing up the R4 software and looking at rpm it only shows 250 at a 1000rpm idle.

Pretty sure your problem is that it is only attached to one coil pack...I am almost positive it needs to be attached to all 4 coil packs.

Yes, you are correct. But to do that and have it work I need a trigger circuit like in the original post. I don't have one, so i'm asking if anyone knows how to make one. Dj is pretty busy now a days and im just asking around. 4 coil packs to coil circuit to SS box is how this one needs to be.. New boxes are just 1 coil pack to the box.

i wonder if you splice in all 4 coils to that one wire if it would read full rpm.
i use 2cyl 2stroke also.

It would make all the plugs fire when any single plug was triggered, and based on DJ's findings there isn't a strong enough pull down on the AIC so it would probably just trigger all the plugs to fire continuously, never letting the coils charge.

Tldr; NO

Each signal needs to be fed through a diode then soldered to the single wire to make an OR circuit of sorts. Then add a pull down resistor to the single wire, I think 1kohm is what DJ used.

yea it would suck to have all 4 continuously firing out of time.

Ordered the Kozmic kit and along with my Cobb piping I figured I might have a space issue with the 2 additional injector piping. Does anyone know if I can extend the cold side approx 6 inches or not? Any ways around this?

You picked the wrong piping kit. Cobb is jampacked near the throttle body area.

I put a 5th port on my cobb kit. The pictures are somewhere in this thread I think. The key is to have a new pipe into the throttle body fabricated with an injector bung welded on and move the BPV to the hot pipe.

So I just got the SS controller and lines hooked up and when I plug the serial to usb up and run the split second program, it will not show any connection. Is this normal until I upload a fuel map?

Make sure you have a good ground, I had to try two different cables also.

Hi,

Sorry to bring up an old thread.

Having just purchased 6th port fuel kit from Speed Performance, does anyone have an example of the fuel map they have used in the Split Second AIC1 controller? I am wondering what is the recommended ratio of fuel between the stock direct injectors and the aux injectors? I thought to start with constant 5 ms injection pulse times in the map (above 3.5V MAF and above 4500 rpm) but would you recommend something else?

I am running E37.5 blend at the moment but I am planning to bump it up to E58.5 once I get the aux fueling system installed. I am seeing ~12 ms (at 6500 rpm) injection pulse times with my current map w/o aux fueling. Dwell time multiplier is set to 0.95

if this is something you are not familiar with i suggest contacting a tuner to do this. My maps have always started with .8 or so in the Cells and progressively went higher. Some injectors will not fire at .5 and lower.
CMajor likes this.

Thanks for the tip but I have built and tuned the car myself. I want to learn. Would you mind posting a screen capture of your map?

0.8 would be 0.8ms so 5ms is much higher than that.

Did a bit of Excel calculations. If I want to drop the stock DI duty cycle to <100% which means under 9ms pulse width at 6500rpm, I need to use about x ms (EDIT) pulse width for the aux injectors in order to keep the same AFR and account for the additional ~15% higher flow required by the thicker E blend. This gives about xx% DC for the aux system and a ratio of 65%/35% between DI/AUX when it comes to total flow. Does this seem sensible?

This gives about 87% DC for the aux system and a ratio of 65%/35% between DI/AUX when it comes to total flow. Does this seem sensible?
stratified used to have a calculator on their website for setting up their maps.

Stratified R4 Calculator

Thank you, this is great help!

Ok, now that I got the correct values from the calculator, I copy/paste them into the R4 fuel map. Values look right until I close and reopen the customer file, which after all the values get rounded down to the closest integer! Any idea why and how to fix it?

EDIT: Split Second customer support was very fast and helpful. The problem was related to Windows language/location settings. Now that I set it to English(US), R4 retains the full 0.1ms resolution.
