Default Problem. Without meth tune is great. On Meth tune shits the bed.

Finally have figured out the AFR spike under full boost that has dogged me for the past 6 months. I created a new 3076r map based off of the newest stage 2+ nano map. Something was wrong with the old map that I had modified endlessly since my first k04. The log below is this tune targeting 12.0. Its nearly dead on. Pulls hard. Seriously. I think it pulls harder than at anytime in the past with the meth.

Here is the issue the second log is when I hooked back up my meth 50/50 and targeted 12.4. What in the fuck is all I can say. 10's for AFR? Really? What the hell are you doing ECU? I assumed that because the meth is injected AFTER the maf that under WOT conditions you would see a few tenths richer than your target. In the past I was seeing maybe .5 or so richer from targeted. Interesting thing is that at my dyno the sniffer said 10.6 while my AP on the old tune and meth said 11.8. Funny today I see nearly the same AFR on meth as the sniffer saw a few weeks back. Is it even possible that the meth could drop my AFR's by 1.5? Need some ideas of where to start with this guys.

I have no experience with with meth, nor that much with the Mazda platform yet. But I just wanted throw the idea of an o2 sensor out there.

If it was the 02 sensor I don't think my non meth tune would be spot on. I can connect and disconnect the meth and watch the same results happen. It may not be a tuning issue. Maybe my meth nozzle is screwed up and just dumping meth in at a higher rate. Right now I really don't know.

I would throw the meth away....top log looks excellent but I guess it's always good to squeeze the juice bottle a little harder. Good luck in trying to find that ams...problem beats me but def. meth is throwing of AFR....

how about some more info like what meth kit and nozzle? Are you running a PRO tune for meth or for the 3076? Maybe try adjusting the flow rate if possible.

Its a snow stage 1 boost cooler. Comes on 100% at 10 psi. I am on a 225 ml/m nozzle (close to D05). The tune is my own doing with a modified stage 2+ map. The top one without the meth is fucking tits. Then as soon as I turn the spray back on I get mid 10's afr and either spark blowout or hesitation from running too rich. I mean look at the Maf g/s. Its higher WITHOUT the meth so I am losing power by spraying.

So is it feasible to see a nearly 1.5 point drop in AFR from a 50/50 mixture and a 225 ml/m nozzle? If I am targeting 12.4 AFR on the meth and hitting mid to high 10's that would mean that I would have to target 14 AFR @ WOT to hit my 12 AFR target on meth. That sounds like it leads to a thread that starts with "motor" and end with "boom". Is that normally how people tune for methanol?

Ops 3076r my bad. You know i dont have a good answer for you however if it were me with your current setup ( makes a big different ) i would try a smaller nozzle. I agree with you tho tuning for meth with you're current setup doesn't sound like the best idea. You can also try changing the mixture 75% water and 25% meth will fix your problem.

I would look further at the wmi kit you are running. Could be anything from the mix not atomizing properly to the placement of nozzle or the size of nozzle. Although the do5 should be ok.

I think my nozzle might be shot. I had another one lying around somewhere. I honestly think that the dye left over from using windshield washer fluid for 30k miles could have effected the atomization. I mix pure meth now. I am going to try to either find me old nozzle or get a new one before I run it again.

On a side note I ran another log today in the cool morning temps. Hit nearly 25 psi (yikes) and 405 Maf g/s. Pull soo damn hard. Don't mind the AFR that was right after a flash and it settled to targeted levels a few minutes later. Also was getting spark blowout and some very minor knock.

yea i wouls pull the nozzle. I know on my aem kit there is a way to test the system and make it spray with driving the car. If snow has that feature pull the nozzle and watch the spray pattern.

sorry, I'm no help since i don't fux with meth. I'm kind of a purist. If you got good fuel, block off the EGR and just roll with trageting 12.0. DI ftw.

4 gallons of E85 + shit 91. Does pretty well. If I change the nozzle and my AFRs still look like shit i think I am going to scrap the Meth and save up for a bigger FMIC core. I am still running the CXRacing core at 23 psi. lol

What do 3076r's put down for g/s normally at sea level?

I would say your issue is a way too big meth nozzle but that's definitely not the case.

Try a new nozzle and see what happens.

Well I don't think it was my meth. My AFRs consistently shit the bed whether its spraying or not. Recent map targeted 12.3 and i was seeing high 10's low 11's. Maf Cal is dead on except my idle trims keep wandering. Also keep popping P0101. I should have listened before when multiple people kept telling me to do a boost leak test. That's gotta be my issue. Time to put one together. I just hope its something easy and not a fucking cracked manifold.
