Default Difference between Cobb stock map and Mazda stock map?

If you guys saw my other post, my AP died and had to be sent to Cobb for repairs. Much to my surprise, they deleted my stock map backup that was on the AccessPort.

I recently uninstalled the AccessPort and, of course, had to use the map that was provided with the AccessPort since my own stock map was gone.

My question is, what is the difference between the Cobb stock map that was flashed during the install and will my dealership be able to tell that I no longer have the Mazda stock map?

Hoping for some good news or Cobb will get a call from an angry customer!

Ah shit. I'll give them a call. This will probably end up taking another two months of my life to get resolved.

I spoke with Cobb and they told me that even without the stock map backup, when you uninstall the AccessPort, it will put the ECU back to a stock Mazda map.

He said that the dealership will not be able to tell that the ECU was flashed or played around with.

Can anyone confirm? I don't want to find myself in a hard place if something does go wrong and I take the car in for repairs.

I am pretty sure that you have a mazda map on your car if you unistall, but mazda could tell that it isnt the map that was on your car to start with if they really dug deep- otherwise why would cobb give you the option to save YOUR mazda tune to the accessport?

I am sure they wouldnt have any idea unless something really bad happend and they suspected a tune

As was mentioned above, when you uninstall the AccessPORT, a Mazda OEM Rom is flashed back onto the ECU. This basically makes your car 100% stock again, at least from an ECU standpoint. That is, if you uninstall the AccessPORT, it returns your ECU to stock.

If you simply flash the stock map onto your car, all that means is you have a stock calibration, but the AccessPORT is still installed.

If you wish to uninstall the AccessPORT you must go through the complete uninstall process.
