I have a couple questions about the positioning of the meth nozzles, and since this is the place to be when talking about meth injection, I will post this here…

First off, I have an Aquamist HFS-4 to go with my big turbo build…the goal is to push around 400awhp/400awtq (or whatever satisfy my ungoing appetite for more power…without breaking the transmission)

In my setup, the turbo is top-mounted and the intake is facing the passenger side (no intake…just a filter on the 4’’ compressor side), I run a water/air intercooler and the MAF is located in between the intercooler and throttle body (3.125 ID pipe with honeycomb straightener)

The distance between the intercooler and throttle body is just 8’’, and I need to position the MAF sensor and meth injection port in this small space

Now for the questions :

- Will injecting 2.5’’ before the throttle plate affect uniformity of dispersion? (jet hitting the throttle plate before full dispersion)(I don’t want to use a throttle spacer because I prefer to weld a bung on the MAF pipe…less trouble for me)
- Does injecting 3’’ to 4’’ away from the MAF have any drawback?
- What is the logic in saying that injecting pre-throttle (5’’+ inches away) will promote the greatest charge cooling (vs post-throttle)…you may get a cooler MAP reading with pre-throttle injection, but the post-throttle injection will cool the charge the same but it may not show on the MAP reading…heck, one of the benefit of direct injection engine is that the fuel is atomized directly in the cylinders to aid in cooling…

If you haven't already, check out this thread. A lot of what you are asking was discussed.

Not sure about the MAF sensor being so close to where you are injecting. I've seen pics and videos of water with dye in it, and when it's injected that shit literally goes everywhere, even backwards. I don't think you want that on your MAF.

Someone with more expertise should chime in though.

I bought MD's throttle body spacer, hopefully that will be enough.

I know this thread hasn't been active for a while but posting it in case it could help others out. Sorry if this has been covered already.

Issue: meth leaking from push to connect fitting (nylon part)

Fix: instead of getting another push to connect fitting, I went with brass compression fitting/sleeve (I personally used a plastic washer sleeve but a brass will work). This makes for a totally secure connection with zero leak. My setup was leaking at the injection point but now (cause of the good result) I'm thinking of doing the same on the pump side as well.

Aquamist also sell compression fitting for meth injection tubing...this is what I use and wouldnt trust anything else for 100% meth
