FWIW, and it may be just my bad luck, but I had a nozzle crack off right at the cold pipe from what I would presume to be metal fatigue. I just had one of the DO 90 degree fittings hanging on it. Hanging a solenoid and other fittings on your nozzle just might multiply the forces and create a similar result.

Noob question here. I'm running a D07. If I wanted to run one of these TB plates with dual nozzles for cross-spray action would there be anything wrong with running a D03 and a D04 with them being different flow rates?

No. As a matter of fact, after seeing some videos of nozzles facing eachother vs. a single nozzle set-up, I feel there are better distribution possibilities (from looking @ the vids only by eye) if you have two opposing nozzles.
@neganox; check out ms6mil's video of his dual nozzle spray pattern.

So you are saying 2 smaller nozzles (equaling the same flow as a larger) might be better?

I have encountered a number of installation issues with my meth setup. This info covers most of the problems you will encounter. I approve this message.

Although I am afraid to say anything @ all, yes, I am saying that I feel that way.
@maisonvi; the only caveat is that increasing nozzles increases connections which increases the possibilities of leaks.

haha, Im not coming at you guns blazing. (thanks for the back up in the other thread BTW)

Im just wondering becuase Im setting up my AIS meth kit with a dual nozzle capable system. I made myself a throttle body plate with 4 holes, but was just planning on going DO10 nozzle. I have afew other smaller nozzles that I could split up. Curious to see the benefits (or lack of) for one nozzle vs multiple, or if there is a noticeable difference.

This thread made me feel really dumb. I read the whole thing and still have no idea what the hell I'm supposed to do regarding a WMI install.

Buy a good WMI kit with quality check valves and the DM throttle body plate and a tune and call it good. That's what you do.

So @rfinkle2;, I ordered one of the check valve equipped nozzle holders from Snow to replace my chunky DO nozzle holder, and I was searching around for other peoples opinions of it before I install it. I came across a thread on a VW forum stating that the cracking pressure is only 10 psi for the check valve equipped nozzle holder. My car usually idles at like 11 psi of vacuum, so is that going to cause the valve to open or does it only open when pressure is on the backside of the valve where the pump is pushing from?

I'd be surprised if it caused an issue. I ran one for a long while, and know some others running it as well.

Maintenance would include :

1) logging @ least once a week.
2) making sure the tank is full
3) inspecting connections
4) maybe every oil change, rinsing check valves with h20...
5) maybe overkill, but spraying (outside of car) some h20 through the system on occasion if using 100% meth.
6) monitor your bat's (bat's are a tell tale sign you are spraying meth).

What length of SS Lines should I order to install my WMI kit on the engine bay area? and How to install the check valve close to the nozzle with a SS line?
Thanks for the advice

There is no way to tell what length you need until you get everything situated. As far as mounting the check valve, you can get a female to female coupler from summit racing to go from nozzle holder to check valve.

Ok so I am a little paranoid about keeping five gallons of pure methanol/ethanol in my car with your basic meth tank/plastic gas tank like I have right now. I was thinking of getting this fuel cell and connecting it to my pump (300 psi) with some AN to brass barb fittings and run standard meth hose. Then I will add a vent port coming out of my car as well.

Here is the tank I am speaking of http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-290101

Would this work? I really do not understand how these fuel cells work.

Also I thing I have found useful is running barb fittings instead of push to connect. It is obviously cheaper than AN fittings and SS lines, and this way nothing ever leaks unlike push to connect. The only downside is that once your hose is on the barbed fitting, it won't come off until you cut it.

Additionally, you can go crazy with barbed fittings and mount your nozzles with them with these.
Anderson Metals Brass Hose Fitting, Connector, 1/8" Barb x 1/8" Female Pipe: Amazon.com: Industrial & ScientificAnderson Metals Brass Hose Fitting, Connector, 1/8" Barb x 1/8" Female Pipe: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Note in fact you need about a 1/8 hose id on your barbed fitting. Most of the time your local Lowes does not go down this small, so I just order it online.

You can ask @maisonvi; for pics of his setup with a 3 gal(I think) fuel cell. Or if you're patient, @Matt@HTP; said he has an aluminum one coming out soon for in the engine bay(check HTP section for details).

Again I counter with.....no worries ever. 4 gallons for 2 years in the trunk. No out of car venting, no odors, no issues.

Here is the set up I had and the install thread I made for it. I debated on running the vent outside the car, but really, I dont see an issue with it. The evaporation rate of the methanol is slow and I open the door enough for it to not matter.

Ya i ordered an aluminum fuel cell then quickly cancelled it today because I was not thinking about the problem with 100% methanol or ethanol sitting in a aluminum tank.

The cell is a Chinese cell from the looks of it (and the price). The company is a Speed Master. The welds are meh but at least it doesn't leak. I have someone with the same cell that will be pressure testing it later on. They advertise it as a foamed cell, but It comes with cheap foam on one corner that I ripped out because it was going to interrupt the fuel level sensor. Also, you need a fuel level gauge for the cell; your low indicator light won't work. Any gauge from 0 to 90 ohms will work. I tested the low fuel sensor with my multimeter and it works great, i just need a gauge. I am probably going to get the Glowshift gauge on amazon.

The fittings on the tank are -10 An that which I used a brass bushing to barbed fitting contraption. Just go to your local plumping store or rubber/hose store and they should set it up for you. They charged me 20 bucks for everything and I got extra 6 feet of 1/4 nylon hose (cheap meth hose that doesn't crack like the refrigerator Lowes hose). ( I can't find the receipt so I can't give you the exact part numbers right now).

I was under the assumption methanol & aluminum don't agree well with each other? Especially 100% meth. I know the MSDS for methanol says powdered aluminum should be avoided with methanol, but I would have to believe that could cause premature failure on an aluminum cell. Guess it all depends on pH.

I guess I'm just thinking maybe those with an aluminum cell should keep a close eye on it and inspect the tank regularly.

I run a plastic tank on my setup. I only run 100% meth in my car as well. Myself personally would be very hesitant to use an alum tank or any metal for a meth tank. Especially being here in the north east where everything corrodes from the outside as well.

Kind of what I was thinking, just happened to see that aluminum tank posted above and figured it might be of some importance to note!

Here is Interesting info from Matt from HTP about Aluminum and Meth.

"100% meth is very flammable and in an accident, where there is no firewall separating, it can spell disaster. This is why you will find that all meth manufactures will state that a non flammable mixture be used.
It is true that 100% methanol is corrosive to aluminum, but for it to take effect, it takes a very, very long time. We have conducted a long term test because this face value claim pops up immediately when discussing it. We have tested this on cast alum, 3003 alum, 5352 alum (what we use for tanks), 6061 alum, & anodized alum (5352 & 6061). Due to the protective oxide layer that forms on the surface of alum when exposed to air, it is protected from corrosion for the most part.
Where we saw any type of corrosion was on cast, and over the length of 2 years, it was very minimal. All types of alum did surprisingly well over this period, the only spots that we saw signs of any type of etching is where we had put a scratch through the oxide layer and the HAZ area around a weld. Even this was very minimal and would have no effect on a methanol injection system. Anodized alum had zero effects.
This was all tested with 99.999% meth. Keep in mind that Methanol is hydrophilic, meaning that it attracts water and will absorb it, self diluting. So fresh methanol was constantly changed to keep the purity levels up. As I have studied these results and researched findings from corrosion engineers, I'm a little let down by this claim that everyone spouts so freely. Just as little as a couple percent of dilution of water, and the corrosive effects are gone."

Thanks for the info. I recently bought an aquamist system. Haven't installed it yet until I gather all the right info that I need.

Anyone truck mounted using push fittings? I am thinking of going this route since I will be running 50/50 instead of 100%. Can't buy 100% unless I want to drive 1.5 hours to get it but i can get 50/50 shipped to my house.

Thought I would add a quick meth hack. I have replaced the nylon meth lines a few times. I have found the AEM 25' roll for $10.00 readily available at many mail order retailers and this is 1/2 price of others with better availability.

Yep I am going to need parts. Just trying to decide if push connect will cut it or not. Sound like it should be good enough.

I would not want to run PTC from the trunk. I know the stainless is a lot more but to me is worth it. Of course I went with stainless and it's mounted in the front bumper.
