Default Has anyone tried the OTS plus map(s)?

Well since I won't be doing a DP/TP for a while(probably tax/bonus time next year) I wanted to look into getting a better map than the COBB OTS POS they have.

Just wanted to see how much of a difference it made(and I know there has to be a difference cause it's got to be better than the COBB OTS tunes).

There are a bunch of people on these right now. You get a base map for your mods, then a supplemental revision in which I am able to get 80% or so of the power of a full tune in those revisions, plus the maf cal is dialed in.

That's why I'm looking at Freektune OTS vs Stratified OTS - I like the idea of the revision to make it just that little bit better.

Are there any Dyno/VDyno comparisons posted yet?

dyno differences between these two maps will be very minimal if not the same - both are great tuners and are offering a solution to have a drive-able car that you can have a little fun on with whatever supporting mods you have

Freek does offer a revision with along with a sudo custom map for whatever mods you have

Lex offers an ots map that will support your mods with the idea that you get a pro-tune from him which he will then discount the money paid for the ots map

Both are amazing but you shouldn't worry about dyno numbers with an ots map

They will be better and safer than the COBB ots as it will be more tailored to you

This is quite a bit more than what your average OTS map would be. Seeing several datalogs and having that supplemental revision picks up quite a bit of power. I will gather a couple VD's up

I'm really glad I decided to go with the supplemental revision, and monitoring datalogs too, because two people with gen1's had bad primary o2 sensors, and didn't even know it and one had a bad ebcs and wasn't hitting any boost. Straight up one revision and out into the wild would have never seen that

Ok that settles it. I'll be going FreekTune OTS. Looking on your site, pretuning checks say to change plugs after 15k miles so gonna have to do this next week since I have to pick up some plugs(have 26K miles on the car now).

Stock heat range is perfectly fine and runs best in most k04 cars

I put my step colders in right before tuning, and they were covered in black soot with less than 100 miles on them.

I'm back to stock heat, and I'm going to stay with stock heat during my ethanol tune.

Nope, on his site it clearly states OTS maps are 91/93 octane only maps. For E85, you're probably better off with a full tune

Are these maps going to be locked? I know the stratified OTS and OTS+ maps are locked. Im wondering because if I had a code unchecked and come inspection time I were to uncheck the code and legalize the car for an afternoon would this be a possible option. Or would it be easier to have a map that would be good for an inspection and just flash/reflash when the inspection is finished?

Yea, seen the comment about ebcs. I just installed this upgrade and was running well prior 20 psi, now I can not hold boost above ~16psi. Now I did read on this site that if you add this upgrade you should cut WGDC by 50%, work your way back up until you hit boost targets.

So I have stepped the WGDC back up some and sturggled betwee ~14 and ~16 psi. I will leak check, however after that I may need some help.

Mainly for those of us not wanting a full tune yet and want something a lot better than the Cobb ots tunes at a fraction of the price of a full tune.

That's exactly why I opted to offer this. There are people that don't want or need a full tune. Better than an OTS map with much better boost control, dialed in maf and a few freeky touches

Unless you have egr delete as well as a dp. You should have no issue with emissions testing.

But yes all my maps are locked now. Too many people started using my maps to make maps for other people

Ok, I leak checked finding that my BOV (TurboXS hybrid) has leak between hard mount flange and BOV body! meaning the BOV is crap and the EBCS has a small leak at the #2 barb fitting connection at the valve body.

Im sure these affect the tune however system supports 20psi prior to leaking. I believe I will need new BOV, Fix leak at EBCS and tune support.

Ok, found 3 bolts on Bov that mounts housing to flange loose. Tighend and this fixed BOV leak. Got one turn on EBCS port #2 and this fixed that leak. Guess I will attempt tuning again.

Now leak tight and will attempt tuning the EBCS again. Can freaktune possible help?? I have multipe data logs currently and will get a follow-up in the morning. I think maybe I will give it a try.

I'm debating going with either a full tune or just a OTS tube from Freek. I need something besides this Cobb OTS tube I got, I get into boost way to quick with the new DP. Won't be able to do a FMIC for a while, but may get a ETS TMIC depending on if I can sell some things, decisions decisions.

Question,

Like the Stratified OTS Plus, the $$ goes towards a tune if you get a custom tune down the line. Is it the same for the freektune?

If the answer to the question below is a yes, then you might want to just go with the OTS at first and see if that solves some issues. If a No, then I'd say go full tune. Personally if I had a DP/TP I'd go full tune to get all the benefits of it. Remember you can always do a fluff tune when you add any parts down the road.

More than likely just going to go the full custom one now since I have everything pretty much except for a upgraded IC, then when I get one later on I will just do a revise. No point in spending the money for an OTS when I know I am going to get a custom one hopefully this year.

HHum?? a poor job trolling for a paid service???? Really!!! To many tuning services to be talking crap. Or at least I was under the assumption that Freektune was in the business of selling this type of servce. Now if you have little experience in tuning the EBCS in I understand. Free was never the question since freektune is a business!! The question was do you have experience in this upgrade tuning and do you believe you can help if I purchase the service?

No luck needed! I have done this many times and Cobb is happy for the extra business.

Maybe freektune is not, but as stated before to many providers to be talking crap!!!
