(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Long story short, my motor popped on my Gen 1 last month and I sourced a Gen2 motor+tranny with 16k miles on it and the stock ko4. The car desperately needs a tune now as it bolted with my old mods + some new ones that came with the new motor. The car feels so sluggish, even though its running the same tune as my old motor. I was hitting 21/22 psi on my old motor and felt the monster torque, this one feels stock/sluggish and im barely hitting 17psi. Old mods on new motor CS TBE COBB FMIC CS SRI +TIP EGR BP COOLANT TB BYPASS and i think thats it. New mods that came with new motor OCC AT FP Internals (I used to have KMD V3) Attached are logs, I've contacted Justin/Freekfune for pricing and turn around time, in the mean time can you guys please take a look at these logs, cause I dont know shit about tuning. PS: I know the GEN 2 motor has different pistons, will that affect the power delivery from the current tune? Is the compression ratio different? Also since im running the Gen2 tranny, the gears are longer right? Do i need to be tuned in ATR to reflect that for the gearing?? THANKS GUYS!

| Not Ranked : 0 score As far as the logs go, only a couple of things jump out at me with my limited tuning experience: - AFR's seem slightly rich unless things have changed since I last tuned (shouldn't affect performance to the extent you're saying I don't think) - You're not hitting boost targets, so maybe your WGDC needs to be tweaked considering you barely hit 75% (although my own car didn't go over 50% for 18PSI, they're all different) * Different waste gate on the turbo I'd imagine folks smarter than me will ask for a log with a 3rd or 4th gear pull from 2500RPM as well if you're comfortable doing so. It's harder to get good data points with shifts in there. I expect though, with the logs you posted, you're trying to represent how it's sluggish with normal driving. Regardless, I think I would personally load a more tame OTS map and drive it lightly until I had someone more knowledgeable to talk to. Tunes are different enough between cars of the same gen/year, let alone a gen 1 ECU paired with a gen 2 engine. But I'm also overly paranoid.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Well, the Gen2 has different gear ratios. I'd start by changing the gear ratios in ATR from Gen1 to Gen2 and then the throttle tables to Gen2 as well.

(Took me a while to figure it out) and it felt a little bit better but still slow compared to how it used to be. Hopefully freek tune can chime in, do I pay first and where do I send $$$ to?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Instead of changing a whole crap ton of tables in your Gen Juan map, why not start with a Gen 2 OTS and change the simpler tables. I.E AFR, WGDC etc from your old map. Then you know the guts of the GenPu tables are good to go.

Maybe since it's a Genwon ECU still the AP won't let you load Pu maps? not sure, but it would be super nice/convenient to just flash it with even a factory Pu map and start tuning from there.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Hey man, I saw that you swapped the engine of the gen 2 into the gen 1. Could you give me a run down of adjustments that you had to make. By my reading it looks like you have to relocate the power steering pump. Where you able to just bolt the gen 1 power steering pump right onto the gen 2 block? Were you able to every get it running good? Sounds like you were having trouble with it not running as good as the original motor, did you get it figured out? Did you do the gen2 ots maps with it? Thanks for any input. Im looking to do the gen 2 swap into my speed6. |
