I assume it also increases the likelihood of being able to use FoST intercoolers as well, no?

Will the Focus ST plastic manifold go bang under boost?:

Realistically, probably not. Pressure tested to 27PSI[/URL] on an ST head, which turned out to be the static float point of the stock intake valves (point at which the head leaks boost into the cylinder):

https://www.youtube.com/embed/0A00YmHuooA

Pressure tested to 110 PSI on it's own which only resulted in blowing couplers.

https://www.youtube.com/embed/_uZGSsZH7YE

Edit: Food for thought:

TL;DR: Can't argue with hard data, that plastic manifold is legit.

Possibly, but damond could be making a slightly modified one so it actually fits nicely for us...

Ecoboost 2.0 from the Focus ST(the other ecoboost 2.0s could share an identical manifold, I'm just not sure.) 2013-2016+ They did a slight refresh for 2015-16. Not sure how much mechanically was involved or if it was more of an aesthetics thing. I'm thinking the ECU/tune was changed a little(due to a misfire issue only 15+ are having), but I doubt the intake manifold.

Yeah...so?

It's fairly well-known in the industry that the Evoque uses the 2.0L Ecoboost.

It means there's more vehicles to scavenge the plastic intake manifold from, so that's a plus.

There's a lot of vehicles that use Ecoboost. They may also use the (ST) manifold.

earlier in the thread it was mentioned that any eco-boost would/could be made to work, some are better than others to start with, no symposer (no flow tests either but designs are similar) I can’t find the part number but they vary from mondeo, to escape/edge. to S60, to Evoque, the Evoque part looks to have more volume in the the runners as well. Finding a picture of them side by side would be good...

I too believe this would be all that is needed to fit a TMIC. Various forms of the 2.0 Ecoboost manifold can be found for less than $100 bucks. This may very well be on my list of to-do mods in the future. In fact my wife drive a 2013 Fusion 2.0 Ecoboost, wonder if she would mind if it used her IM for awhile lol.

Edit - Upon some google-fu'ing I found this previous thread and it appears this isn't a direct bolt, however a machined adapter plate looks to be all that might be needed to make this a bolt-on part.

I wonder if with this mani we could run a blow-through setup, assuming the piping to the TB can be a slightly longer straight piece....

Yep, and that machined adapter plate would (potentially) allow us to run any number of port-injection meth/aux fueling systems that are readily available from speedperf6rmanc3, BREEDT, Boomba, etc.

Yes, just a 180 around the radiator, then a 90* straight up to the throttle body. Same as the LNF cobalt SS engines when they go blow through.

Your setup would be tricky though since both your inlet and outlet are on the top. Clock the turbo over and flip the intercooler over and have the hot pipe go under the car?

So yeah, my wishlist:

1) TMIC support
2) SFI with ability to control the relative pulse width of each individual injector (allows balancing fueling to the whole system if you have EGT/O2 sensor data for each runner on the EM)

I'm very curious how they managed it with the Focus RS. The engine and transmission are mounted in roughly the same fashion as in the MS6, so there's a pretty good chance they had to get creative to maneuver the intercooler piping beneath motor.

Looks like there's enough room to go around the tcase and under the engine. I'm surprised there's enough room for it to go that low. Maybe they brought the engine up a tad. Also the turbo might be mounted a bit more rearward in from the engine than ours, something that would be an allowance from a different engine bay.

Edit: Interesting, seems like they have a small intermediate shaft coming out of their tcase for their passenger side axle. So I would chalk it up as a more compact tcase which allows them to run it under the engine.

Nice find!

Now...who's in for a t-case + rear end swap?

Nice find!

Now...who's in for a t-case + rear end swap?
Lol not I. I was looking at some other pictures of the rear end. It looks like it's got a ton more ancillary parts to it. It even has it's own control unit that sits right above it.

After looking at the pictures of this manifold, I notice that each cylinder is a single runner, as opposed to the DISI with two runners per cylinder. That is going to be an issue for anyone still running the stock (unported) head. Unless this kit will come with a knife edge gasket, or something similar?

Interestingly the ST head has twin ports like the MZR, and the facia is machined flat (also like the MZR)

This is the Focus ST head:

Here's how the ST and MZR manifolds compare: (pictures courtesy of theschrum)

Throttle body pattern is very similar (but it points downwards)

Port for the "sound symposer":

Port for the MAP sensor (same map sensor as MZR). There is no provision for Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR).

As you can see the intake ports don't quite line up (hence Damon Motorsports designing an adaptor)

The ST manifold clearly wont seal due the port alignment but it does physically bolt to the MZR block on it's own:

Should probably wait to see what damond and friends have made before finding problems. Obviously the setup works without issue so give em a few more days to esssplain.
