Haven't gotten that far. The last revisions in the nhra ruless book will help me a little. 08' and newer vehicles do not need rollbars now when breaking 11.49. It's full cage at 9.99 or 135. I should have a little window there to help

it is only 08 and newer STOCK cars dont need rollbars, if you have any modifications you will need a rollbar for quicker then 11.49. Unless the track you go to isnt that strict.

the rule was put into place for GTR's and your other high end exotics.

Nobody will touch 9's and most likely will not touch 135 on stock gearing. We got a slim chance at 135 with enough power/ weight reduction, but that's still gonna be really tough.

Yeah that's true, they're pretty lax on it down here, but I'll definitely be planning something for the possible caging situation.

Yes and no. Our gearing really isn't all that bad actually really similar to that of a stock rsx type s 6spd. The ability to rev higher once cobb unlocks the rpm axis will be huge for us and staying in 4th gear crossing the line, not to mention taller tire size when running slicks.

Yeah, i really didn't think there would be too many issues when trying to stay in 4th gear on the bigger tire and having upgraded valvetrain to rev it to 8k or so if needed and when we have that capability.

Yes, if/when we get more rpm, then we'll be ok to about 130-135 in 4th at 8000-8500rpm, but again that's an if/when we get more rpm. On the taller tire front, I know a 28" slick won't work, but I did find one 27" slick that I'm considering trying to run. Either way though, a 135 trap will be pushing the limits of that 4th gear and we're not touching 9.90's on a fwd car with a 135 trap.

Either way, I'm just pumped to see us finally moving into the racing stages of this platform, finally moving away from the "How the fuck can we even make enough power to make racing fun?" stage lol

im almost debating to try 28's next and to raise the shit out of the front end. Not sure if the coilovers I have go much over stock height though.

That would be awesome, if you can make it happen let me know that would potentially be huge. Although, i don't see us ever needing anything bigger than a 26" slick. The fastest unibody import Without bars from speedfactory runs consistant 7.9x@190+ making damn near 1600whp and they lay it all down on a 26" tire

Considering the same thing, my only concern is I think the fronts have some room to go over stock height.... but the rears are already maxed out, so if I lifted the front up enough to fit that 28", the car would be raked backward which wouldn't be ideal at all for keeping weight over the front wheels.

We shall see though.

Remember to baffle the oil pan with a JBR kit or something similar. Just saw another genpu go down under taking a sharp on ramp turn at 60+ (has a BSD). He said he heard a loud clicking then the engine died. Lol

I'll give you my block to build for your build so I can have yours which haz the good compressionz.

Oh yeah, you happen to mean travis... Whom just happens to be you too lmao. That sucks man, another built motor bites the dust. I really don't see the BSD kit without baffling causing this. Did you forget to add that just over an extra Qt of oil that the motor takes with a BSD?!

I'm not really an expert on BSDs, but from what I understand, the balance shaft acts as a baffle for the oil in itself. When you delete it and don't bring in something else to balance the distribution of the oil itself, the oil will go unevenly all to one side of the pan/engine, starving the other cylinders/rod bearing/etc.
