| Not Ranked : 0 score Maybe one of you guys can answer this regarding the Full Control flash. Is there a way to revert back to stock? Worst case scenario - I get the flash, then blow (unrelated to the flash). Is there a way to go back to stock or would CPE have to reflash it? Also, when doing the FCF, how long of a turnaround is it if I overnight my ECU to them? I work for an airline, I was almost thinking of flying to CPE with my ecu to have them flash it. Think it would be very hard to get through airport security with a car ecu? Would the xray machines fuck it up?

After reading about a 100x flash limit, I wouldn't even dare try, or get near to that amount....

I don't think security cares all that much about what's in your bag. They'd rather just gander at your peepee.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yes the SB software is not Mazda specific and it is meant to hide those buttons if its the Mazda "version". Overall, does anyone have any issues with the SB software? I have found a couple annoying bugs in the software but never see anyone else mention any issues. My laptops (multiple) lately just are not able to write data to the SB without write failures and logging is completely hit or miss whether it works or not. Other bugs too in the interface. Just wondering if its just me or not. CP-E are aware of the issues though and are working on fixes, but I'm sure if multiple people had issues it would become a higher priority.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Same issues... For a while I thought it was because I switched to a Windows 7 computer. 1. Loses detection 2. Write failures - only on a full write; quick write seems to work fine for me 3. MAF XR table sometimes doesn't recognize the changes I make (when I reload a map, it always put the old numbers in???)

I have found a way to save the MAF xfer table I think. The data is kept when you save the tune if the table was populated by reading the data from SB, not by entering the data. So make changes, send data to sb, read data from sb, save to file. Glad to see its not just me. I thought my laptop was dying so got a new one only to find that has the same issues.

Are you able to confirm if the SB hardware for Mazda supports some kind of can bus functionality and its only not available by software? Or does the mazda SB just not have the CAN bus connections?

| Not Ranked : 0 score The standback for the mazda will not connect to the car via canbus. None of the addresses and codes were ever done on the mazda setup so nothing would be identified or used. On the bmw project it does things like map switching and other info and tuning things.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I just wonder if that is a hardware limitation (same sb as bmw no?) or a software issue. Maybe the software can't handle the mazda canbus but maybe it could (Clear codes, log obd data, etc). Just a thought, but probably not gonna happen.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Its basically the internal network in a car that allows communication between devices (sensors, gauges, ecu, everything). That is how the dashhawk gets its info for example. You can connect to it, read info, request info, etc. To request the info you need to know the PID of the info you want. There is standard PID info and OEM specific that is usually not freely available, though some have access to. ^^ Simple explanation so dont shoot me down if you know more

| Not Ranked : 0 score Lol Dustin knows canbus. Matt - you can't just hook up to canbus and have it work. Its a lot of R&D and "listening" to the cars canbus signals to find the "address" or "codes" that are being utilized / called for when you do the things you want to happen. Then you code in what you want to happen when you double tap the dtc button or w/e. All of the collective coding, address, commands, and info was never R&D'd so its not something useful for the mazdas. The firmware / hardware is there - the 100s of hours to program and find all the things you want done aren't but tc3 may be diff - i dont know.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yea I understand what is involved, but much of the OBD commands are standard and would take no time to implement if it were doable by the hardware. Yes there is much more non documented commands, but we really dont need that. I have written software apps myself to read the CEL, clear codes, change the radio LCD text even. I even have decoded some of the mazda specific PID's. Its really is not that difficult for a knowledgeable developer and was just wondering if the standback on mazda could do something more. End thread jack.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I have a question about long term fuel trims. At idle mine is about -8.6 when I'm driving it goes down to 0. Is this an issue and how do o correct? Sent from my HERO200 using Tapatalk

| Not Ranked : 0 score Just take note of your MAF volts where you LTFT deviates from 0.0. Then in the MAF Transfer table, go to the corresponding MAF Volts cell and make a change. If you LTFT was -8%, then in the cell enter a negative number (-2 for example). If your LTFT was +8% then in the cell enter a positive number (+2 for example). This just makes the SB correct that MAF volt range (much like the car does) and thus allows the car to not make any changes. The generally accepted range of ok LTFT is -8% to +8%. So you dont need to get to exactly 0%. But closer the better.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I normally just look at them and don't log. They only seem to change 4 times or so (i.e. 4 ranges). Idle, 1.5-2.1, 2.1-2.5, 2.5-3.1, WOT This may not be exact but it works for me. So I just drive and see what my LTFT is doing at a certain MAF volt and then change that range. Now if you wanted to log, by all means. LTFT & MAF Volts would really be the only two params necessary. STFT wont really tell you anything as I would just wait for your LTFT to stabilize and then modify the StandBack tune to correct it. Rinse and repeat. A battery pull may help too after each change to ensure the ECU is starting fresh.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Anyone interested in using the new StandBack software that I wrote can download it here: Mazda StandBack Tuner This is new software written completely independently of CP-E and has been the most stable StandBack software available to date that I have used. This software in still in testing but I have experienced no issues what so ever with it. There are no known software bugs, but please contact me if you find any. Same goes for any improvements that you would like to see in the software. There is still an issue with the StandBack disconnecting randomly from the software as discussed here and elsewhere. This is the hardware issue that has been discussed in other threads. If people wish to try out my USB grounding cable please do so. This has worked successfully for me 100% of the time so far. Info on the hardware issue: http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...tml#post711178 Standback logging issues? PM me with questions or comments. I don't want to sidetrack this thread, but I wanted to make this known as we previously discussed that many of us are having issues.
