From what I saw, the Synapse is not a push type valve. It is similar to the HKS which does not work unfortunately due to the valve design.

I think it can be set up in either push or pull type if I remember correctly

Synapse can be configured in push or pull, that is correct. To quote an old thread...

"Push vs. Pull mode - The Diverter Valve can be configured to run in either "Push" or "Pull" mode. In speaking with David from Synapse, he says Push mode is not recommended for high boost installations where the boost pressure could force the piston open resulting in a boost leak. "Pull" mode is recommended because as boost increases, it exerts more force onto the piston, making the seal even tighter.

20-21 psi...as this is right around where the factory push configured valve tends to have issues...that's how I personally would determine high when running this valve.
