Ecoboost going hard

As we know Mazda was the pioneer of the DISI MOTOR. Ford had taken their design and created their own ECOBOOST MOTOR offering a 1.6L 2.0L 2.3L


1.6L 178 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque

2.0L 252 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque

2.3L 330 horsepower and torque is unknown

The 2.0L will be offered for the Ford Escape and Ford Focus ST
The 2.3L will be offered for the Ford RS and the 2015 Mustang

What is pretty cool about the ecoboost is that they have include Twin-Independent Variable Cam Timing and have a new style piston that control the flame. The big plus is individual knock control system that each cylinder has to pick up knock which will be good for tuning..

BMW already did it in the N54 with individual knock control. Porsche was doing it in the early 2000s. It doesn't use individual knock sensors - just better timing windows.

BTW, the 2.3 DISI is a Ford Motor

Yeah right it's doesn't use individual knock sensor. But the sensor it use is called a ION SENSOR which is built into the coil pack it self for people who don't know what it is.. Which Mazda skiactiv use an work very well and good for tuning use.

Well, not really.
The 2.3 DISI motor was developed by Mazda. When Ford bought a share of Mazda they took the design and branded it under the Duratec name. The motor itself is a Mazda design. That's the way I understand it.

I believe that Ford is doing well now because before let go off Mazda, Range Rover, & Jaguar they stole a lot of their technology. All the new Ford SUVs have the off road systems as Range Rover as well as Mazda's DISI.

My apology, i was thinking of the 2.0T uses the k03 and can make up to 301hp in the 2011 Ford Radical SR3 ( not even entirely sure wtf that is just found this on the wiki page)
