Default Gen2 Tow Plate

What's up guys,

Just picked up my new 12 Speed3 about a month ago and decided to move from an old forum to here. Just picked up a CS SRI (installing on saturday) and a few other non-performance mods (led fogs, led interior lights, stubby, etc) and was wondering if anyone has a towplate on the gen2 speed and if you left the bumper piece off or cut a hole in it. CPE or CS? Any pictures would be appreciated.

Yes because the plate hides the plug. This is better than not drilling the plug because you can see part of the tow hook hole which is not covered by the plate.

The template is not 100% accurate so you may have to use a dremel or similar tool to adjust the hole. Just do a little at a time. The plastic is soft and east to grind out.

I got CP-E as well. Took off the plastic plug and didn't bother cutting a hole (figured I'd keep it in tact for whatever reason)

Nice thing about the CP-E is that you don't have to take the whole thing off and you can still put the tow hook on (although it sticks out like a joust)

I just ordered the CP-E one. I refuse to put holes in the front of my car and I might be moving to TN in the next few years. So i figured this will be the best $80 dollars I can spend.

You can leave out the factory tow hook bolt cover with the installation of our kit. It is a personal preference to drill out the hole for the mounting bolt on our Lic kit.

I have the corksport kit and it works great. But, if you dont use the bolt cover, there is about 1/2" that is not concealed by the license plate. So for a "clean" appearance, it is mandatory to cut a hole in the cover using the current design. Maybe you guys can take another look at the relative position of the plate on the tow bolt and raise it up a little so it conceals the entire gap under the bolt hole cover.
