Default Front bumper/hood respray - VRM

Hey guys,

has anyone had any experience respraying the front bumper/hood on their speed in velocity red mica? how well did it match?

Also I know it's a tricoat so how much does that jack the price up? Thanks!

Depends on who does the work, the dealership did the re-spray on my bumper and hood, they were close, but there is a slight difference in my hood scoop and the hood and it is annoying. Make sure they spray the scoop because it will have faded differently then the fenders. After a tire destroyed the freshly repainted front bumper cover, the body shop that replaced it matched it absolutely perfectly. So it can be done, don't buy into the guys that tell you the VRM can't be matched. Just read reviews, do your homework, and find a body shop you trust.

I had a deer commit suicide on my front end and the body shop that resprayed my VRM did a really good job. Like the inked inspector said, under the right light I can also tell my hood scoop is just a little off. I guess it want resprayed. I actually didn't notice it until under my garage lighting a couple days ago. The work was done almost a year ago. The entire drivers side of my car was also resprayed and it looks excellent, can't spot one thing off. I have a lifetime warranty on my body work. I thought about taking it back but you can't tell in the sunlight or under most conditions.

I would suggest finding a place that also offers lifetime warranty on their work. Is your damage covered under insurance?

I don't have any damage but I did have this dumbass in a jeep swerve off the interstate towards the median and fling 3 tire chunks straight at my car...luckily I was paying attention and dodged them but it got me thinking about painting because I do have quite a few chips. I got the touch up pen from the dealership and it's done pretty good so far

I kinda want a clear car bra but I would need to get repainted before I did that

I had the paint shop paint the grill assembly the body color. I like it.
