Does carbon fiber wrap match actual carbon fiber?

Have a 2010 liquid silver ms3 and ive thought about doing a carbon fiber (stock looking) hood once or twice but always come back to the same issue that the car would look goofy with just the hood against the silver. No one makes a carbon wing (again stock looking) for our cars so ive contemplated getting it carbon covered just to balance things out. The question is does anyone have any experience with carbon wrap, is it pretty close or does it obviously look like it was wrapped? thanks.

If it isn't real carbon fiber, than its fake. With that said, some look like a cheap checker pattern while higher end ones do a better job of simulating fiber. None can reproduce the depth of weaves that make carbon fiver unique.

The only problem is that black CF vinyl is one color of black, real CF is different shades of black. With that said, the 3M 1080 is the closest I've seen to looking real, it's even textured. You can request samples of the 1080

Don't be a ricer and stay legit. Getting fake carbon fiber is like buying a 'Ken' doll... you look gay doing it, and you don't even get real balls to suck on.

Seriously, I've attended many car shows (and even helped judge a few small ones) and fake CF NEVER gains points; with judges or real gear-heads alike. If you want something to contrast, do flat-black paint (or maybe flat-black wrap??).

Yeah, thanks to everyone who actually unerstood the point of this post. im not saying i would wrap my wing to save money or add 20 hp to my vtak or w.e. just that as far as i knew no body made a legit carbon wing, and a carbon hood in and of itself would look out of place. im fully bolted now and just lookin for other shit to do.

theres a duckbill carbonfiber spoiler extension out there somewhere. i see it on gen1s all the time.
