Default Corksport Hood Scoop With Mesh Insert

Anyone have pictures of their car with the CS scoop with a wire mesh insert in it? Trying to decide if I'd like to do that to mine. Feel like I get to much debris on my nice new TMIC. Thanks

I think I will just go ahead and do it. I'd like to paint the mesh black and then do a "Mazdaspeed" lettering in red.

Whitezilla did that before and it looks awesome. Except he didn't put a mesh it was a little different but still looked great!

Alright well I've got the mesh painted red and ready to mount and put back in the car. I'll post pictures tomorrow as it is rainy and dark here.

I wish I had taken pictures along the way. There wasn't much to it though. Bought rain gutter guard from lowes. Clipped it with sheet metal cutters to size. Then used epoxy to hold it in place. Seems strong.

Sorry to bring back this thread, but I was wondering what primer and paint you used? The kind I have just seems to flake off with my nail and would look like shit eventually with stuff hitting it.

Can you get some shots at night of the light output, and pattern? Seen quite a few people get these, then when asked about light output, they seem to disappear. Makes me think the projectors on them are shit.

They're not fantastic with halogens. I'd say comparable to OEM. With HIDs though they'll be better. I'll be down my that in the spring.

I have the tech package with the following headlights, so I'd prefer not to get rid of them. Those look killer though

If you have tech, like i do. You have to retrofit some switchbacks.

And those won't fit anyways since the headlight harness is smaller than the tech package.

Switchbacks with a black housing sounds pretty amazing. I thought the brights on these used only the projector, but I've been reading else where that they have a dedicated brights reflector? Would suck to leave one part still in chrome

Then you don't have an bright reflector and it's just the projector.

You can, he's also going to do the HID conversion as well.

Have you thought about switching to LEDs? They don't require an Ballast and is about equal or more in brightness.
