Katie, are you still offering a powder coat option? I saw the different finishes and colors Ryan had to choose from and some of those look damn sexy. That Candy Blue Smoke looks better in person than those pictures.

Yeah absolutely! Custom colors are always an option. :-) Just let me know what you might be interested in and I'd be happy to get the details. I agree, pictures don't do it justice. The candy blue with that chrome smoke base looks phenomenal. I snapped a few pics of it myself before sending it off to Ryan lol

Hey Katie, are those other colors an extra cost option? As you know, I'll be ordering a full 3" soon and I might be interested in the blue/another color if the price is right...

For a single stage color there is usually no additional cost. The black and red wrinkle that we do are single stage. The candy blue with chrome smoke base like Ryan posted on his MAF & inlet is a two stage so there is a price difference. It's varies depending on the color/finish. I can email you the color selections though and give you an idea of the additional cost for whichever color option you think you might like. Just let me know!

Off the top of my head I know there's a silver wrinkle texture but tomorrow I'll check and see what's available in the white wrinkle department.

Looking at the email samples, they have a silver wrinkle for sure but I don't see a white.

Maybe if you live in a desert? my Sure aeros and charge tubes white silicone attracts dirt much more than powdercoated metal, but it stays pretty clean here in oregon despite the rain

My white g2 calipers are still white too

Now that you mention it, I think my white car stays cleaner than my black car... imagine that

Yeah I usually clean whatever I touch when I'm buttoning up from wrenching, I'm glad a simple wipe with a moist towel is all mine need

Dealing with HTP (Katie) has probably been the best customer service experience I've ever had. I just ordered my full 3" intake with a 2-stage Candy Red with Chrome Smoke base powder coat today. Can't wait! Thanks HTP. Awesome company, prices, and service.

I am so indecisive about picking between a 3" and 3.5"! arggg. I suppose a 3.5" would breathe better if I decide to go bnr later on.

Im in the same boat. When I save up the money, Im thinking its a "go big or go home" type mentality. even if I stay on the K04 you can never have too much air.

Read up on the issues some guys have been having with the 3.5. For some reason I remember some having issues at idle. Just something to think about.

Yeah, I figured if Justin (atvfreek) can make 400+whp with a full 3" on BNR and meth, then it's more than enough for anything I'll ever want to do.

Ehh, I'm gonna go 3.5 on my K04 in efforts to maximize efficiency and power and if I happen to go BNR or BT in the future (not planning on it) I'll have my intake already atleast. A lot of other K04 guys have said they have seen an increase in airflow with the 3.5" vs other 3" intakes.

But my question is what if he had the 3.5? Would he gain nothing? 10hp? Duno if it matters, Im sure his car is a beast right now anyway.

I do worry about idle issues, which is what is steering me towards the 3"

Yeah, I'm not sure. I also considered the idle/drivability issues in my decision.

I feel the same way @Dr. Speed; does on this decision for my own personal goals. Looks like either way it is a win win over the standard SRI available and at an awesome price.

Beyond the idle issue potential, theres the batt/tray replacement and ECU relocation with intakes past 3", I didnt want to get into all that.

Worth noting that the Speed6 ECU is inside the car where any self respecting ECU should be, out of the rain, cold & other such nonsense.

Of course, our battery sits over far enough to be in the way of anything bigger than the 3" so, yeah, still a PITA

I have a 2011 and my stock battery is already slow to crank when it gets cold so I figure I might aswell do the combo.

That's what im doing. Plus with the BNR it pushes the 3" out to the point you have to relocate the ECU completely.

Katie, thanks for the heads up on that and a great price on the batt tray!

Wait what, with a BNR the 3" requires ECU relocation? I had no heads up on that..

@JDW1; dude, your ecu is not located on the side of the battery. It's in the passenger compartment.

One piece or the old two piece design? Katie said they were installing one in the shop and it wouldn't fit correctly without relocating. Either way I was going with a new tray anyways.

We had one in here for an install and the BNR compressor housing sticks out a 1/4" further than the stock turbo pushing the 3" into the ECU. It can be forced, but the ECU housing & or intake will be damaged over time from rubbing.
