(Thread Starter) | So a long time ago I overheard @voltron; tell someone to check their spoiler and make sure the nuts were tight "or you're going fishin". Well I didn't necessarily blow it off, but I sure as fuck didn't run and check. So I'm rolling down the road, minding my own business and I hear a metallic sound in the back of the car go "ping pin ping ping". I knew exactly what it was when it happened. Instantly I was like: So I tried "goin fishin", for like a solid 45 min or more. Lifting the hatch up and down, up and down; trying to get this shit near my magnet. Luckily, I hear it fall its way all the way to the bottom of the hatch. Finally I said fuck fishing with a magnet, and started pulling body panels. After I pulled the top trim, I get to the big bottom piece and when I pulled it off, the nut magically fucking falls out. Thank God and FML... No way I could live with hearing that shit rattle every time I hit a bump or lift the hatch. Anyways, check your shit now because it takes 10 fucking seconds and will save you from mad frustration. I was fortunate it fell out when I pulled the panel; who knows how long that shit could have gone on for. Don't mind the girl. No fucking clue who's woman this is, but fuck it she can be our model. I'd pee in her butt. So, the 2 little circles represent where there are 2 little plastic caps. Pop those off and there are 2 10mm nuts. Deep socket is needed. Both of those were loose on my car. Then there are about 3 more, under the main plastic trim that's in the big circle. Be careful, but it just pops right out. Those require a pretty deep socket. I didn't locktite my shit, but I intend to. If you decide to wait and it falls... Have fun.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I went to the dealership to have them fix this because I found the little 10mm nut at the end of my hatch towards where the button is when you open the hatch. They fixed it and a day later its loose again and rattling. It was the very right nut, I bet it fell off again. I'm sure the vibration from the exhaust/ having motor mounts causes the bolts to become even more loose. It drives me nuts! I have also owned a 2009 Mazda 3 and this 2012 MS3 and have had a rattle above the front passenger head rest. Same fucking rattle on two different generations. Fuck you Mazda fuck you... |
