| Not Ranked : 0 score Ya, But, then I thought about it and came to the conclusion, I am spending $4k on this hardware alone, I cant really expect them to just have a warehouse with hundreds of these things just sitting there for months ready to ship, and do I really want one that has been sitting in a warehouse for a year. It will give me time to let my race mechanic make the room for my car and schedule it up right. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score The only guy I trust with it is also the performance shop guy who would built it, My days of doing it myself by hand ended many moons ago. I am a professional hacker, my hands are my life. If I crunch my fingers in the main seal or a chain on a lift snaps, I'm working at walmart for the rest of my life. I can wait the 2 weeks and let a professional do it right. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score No. just plug and play stock for now. Thought about a stage 3, but there is only 82k on the engine and nothing wrong with the top end. FWIW my ZZB is really just a rod knock that developed from (suspiciously) low oil, in a hard (about 1.18g according to my instrumentation) left hand turn and it just ran dry. It probably didnt help that I was pushing redlien in second gear. It doesn't leak oil and I have been changing and checking it religiously. But after it developed a knock I checked it and it was off the stick so, completely my fault. I totally expect to find that oil in the turbo lines on disassembly. Redline RPMS + Low Oil + hard left turn = ZZB Rod Knock Example |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score To be clear, with these engines, they are built to order. It usually takes a week for you to get the engine once you have ordered it, but sometimes it takes up to two weeks and at least once it has taken three weeks. These are very good about going out quickly after you place your order, but the ETA we get from the company that builds them is always 6 weeks because they like to under promise and over deliver. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yes, it's fairly normal. Your vague, seemingly questions-less question only added to the newb treatment. People have bought these blocks and used them. What about it would you like to know? They are re-manufactured with a warranty. Edge is great to work with. Not much else to it really.

However, to be more specific, do any of you recommend their product? How many miles have you run with the reman? Have you run into any reliability issues? Any feedback is appreciated.

As for these engines, I don't know how many forum members have purchased one, but we have averaged selling one or two per month since we listed the engine back in 2014. With all those that have sold, we have only had 3 with issues. One guy is on his third engine covered under warranty. After the second engine blew, he had the car inspected at a mazda dealer to prove that the engines were faulty. The inspection proved the opposite... From the pictures the mazda tech sent us we were able to see the exact reason the engine kept blowing. There was an open hole in the intake behind the MAF where the valve cover vent line should have been connected. The car had been modified by the guys son unknown to him and had been running lean on all the engines. The engine was still covered under warranty the third time even though it clearly wasn't the engines fault. The 2nd issue we've seen was with a small oil leak coming from the engine. A tech was sent out and the issue was repaired under warranty at no cost to the owner. The third issue is still ongoing as it just recently happened, but it will be handled like the other two. Warranty will be utilized and the necessary repairs will be made. Hope this helps you make a decision. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help you. Before we put this engine on the site, I personally put one in a blown speed 6 I had. The engine went back in with a GTX3071 and Full Race Exhaust mani. The car was tuned to make about 370whp and then sold. As far as I know it is still running on that engine now two years later.

| Not Ranked : 0 score based on what he just said about how they have gone out of their way to warranty the block when other vendors would be making excuses why you should go fuck yourself. Take CP-e for example, they claim lifetime warranty on all parts but you will argue with them for hours on the phone as the manager/ceo tries to convince you that the issue is not covered because of something he cant prove you did to it. A bunch of hypothetical shit like "well i don't know how you installed it or if you changed fuel pressure, but no we cant warranty it" and then it changes to "we'll warranty it but you have to pay a repair/core fee so pay me 150$ and ill fix it" ^^^ This is what you can expect from some places who claim to have warranty, but based on what Edge just said and my own experiences with them you could not find a better option for a warranty and support stand point. With that said the question i would be asking is why spend 4k on this when 4k will get you a built block, that's the question you should be asking .... but you wont get Edge service so there is a big value there especially on a performance platform no other companies even want to hear the word warranty..... You concerned still? go pay the dealer 8k - 10k to install a new longblock and get 30k mile warranty, but by then you could buy 2 engines reading edge's post makes me want to buy one just to experience this level of service when i blow it up because racecar ..... |

| Not Ranked : 0 score It would be nice if the edge block came with some upgraded goodies, just saying. yes it would raise the price a little, but better pistons and a little better rod wouldn't be bad. Most of us are only looking to get into the 400hp range, any higher than that and the cost sky rockets unless your building it yourself.

| Not Ranked : 0 score This is indeed a great option.. But, theres a catch for all us DIYers... I you opt to purchase either of the two warranties that is offered, and you install the motor yourself, and something is wrong or you pop... your warranty is VOID unless you can show proof that it was installed at a shop... this is not edge that enforces it, its the actual Co. That offers said warranty. .. (just something to consider :-)....) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I bought an engine that was almost identical, 3 year, unlimited mileage warranty, with same no fault clause...and although it seems great. I have gotten 2 motors so far that lost compression. 1st after less than 5k miles, 2nd with less then 15k miles. I'm only pushing 22psi on a corksport turbo, properly tuned by purple drank. Broken in to the required sheet they send with the motor, conventional oil for the first 5000 miles. And first change at 500. Maybe just the 2 engines I got, but sure does seem almost 2 good to be true. I am almost 100% positive they are manufactured by the same factory. Luckily I have had my engine installed my a local mechanic that's my friend and has stood by me and working to get this second engine warrantied now. First was 150 comp across 4 dropped to 150, 132, 129,115...second motor was 160 across all 4, now is 160, 145, 140, 145...my question is does this company use Mazda spec rings, or actual fomoco rings, and do they use a torque plate to do the boring and if not could this be an issue with the compression

Btw.... when mine went, they asked me for compression and leak down results, after that they told me to call to schedule a pickup. 2 days later they picked it up and 7 days after that I got the call that the claim was approved. I also know people that have vented blocks and they just sent a new one out.
