(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I mean, its about time! I know you guys have seen the install threads for the new Treadstone FMIC Kit for the Speed 6. While there are some small issues and some things need to be trimmed for proper fitment in the bumper area, you can't beat this kit for performance and price. Previously, the only options for a bolt on MS6 kit were either $1200 or $1400 depending on where you bought it and they were almost never quickly available. The third option was next to nothing cost wise, but came with leaky/poor fitting pipes and a less than adequate core. Of course you could switch that out for a treadstone core, but then you had to get out the hack saw and cut away at the factory crash beam. Fortunately, now the dark ages are behind us and we can now get a bolt on application that allows you to install an excellent and proven intercooler core and go on about our business making power. Treadston Front Mount Intercooler Kit for Mazdaspeed 6 - $849.95 to $899.95 ![]() The Treadstone Front Mount Intercooler for the Mazdaspeed 6 is a full intercooler replacement kit and includes a new crash bar to mount the new FMIC core in place. It features a TR8 or an optional TR1035 intercooler core, which is more than enough cooling capacity for most people looking to upgrade their turbo. Using a proven bar and plate core and aluminum mandrel bent piping, this kit bolts right into place and maintains the use of the factory style blowoff valve as well. The TR8 version is capable of handling 500hp efficiently and the TR1035 can easily handle up to 650hp. All hardware is included for a clean and smooth installation. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Awesome! I love this kit ... Will you sell the kit without the Treadstone Core too? I already own a TR8 core.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Have seen mixed reports about this on Facebook unfortunately. Seems like one of the core options requires cutting of the passenger side fog light shroud to make room for the piping. Will try find pics to post. | Not Ranked : 0 score Looking at the first pic and that pic there is no pipe that does that. Id be more worried about the crash bar. Getting the HLs adjusted has always been a PITA for me as they mount to the bottom of the crash bar. See in pic how bad the bottom gap looks and HL lens does not align properly with the bumper toward center.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I bought one of these kits from Edge last November, and finally had time to attempt the install last month. You do need to remove the washer fluid reservoir, and either remove or bend the horn bracket as well. I ended up bending my horn bracket to fit the piping as I was doing the install, but from what I experienced you also must cut into the foglight shrouds to get the kit to fit properly. Unless I received a poorly bent piping kit these are the modifications you'll need to do to get it to fit. I didn't keep the kit on as I didn't feel comfortable cutting into the fog light shrouds. |
