Actually I just got one in the mail the other day, and I am impressed. The cast tube is a little heavy but solid. The couplers are high quality, and the cast tube is black. I regret what I said with out seeing one in person. I have not tried to install it yet, but it looks good so far!

for ms6 you need to have the oil return line "bent" (which crimped mine) or fixed up by DJ
Will see if the atp 90* fitting line works also.

Eric, this coupler should added on your site + a note about what is needed when you guys put this new GTX on you site. This will help people to get the right parts for this upgrade.

Other than that, it's a nice option for our car. Guys who have a CS TIP will have no trouble upgrading to this GTX for a very low cost.

So, I could keep my COBB SRI and buy a CS TIP + a 3" coupler. Talk about low cost, I would still get a manifold but hell this is great!

It was a cosmetic project that is almost done. Took me a LOOONG time, but I really like the way it is coming out.

So this thing is supposed to best the ole GT2871 by quite a bit huh? I assume that means it should best the BNR S3 as well. But by how much is the real question. 1100 for the BNR or 1650 for slightly better top end...Actually really interested to see how these things turn out for our cars. In for finkles results.

The GT2871 with 52 trim flows much more than the 48 trim that is drawn over that plot, which reduces the max flow potential benefit to 2-3 lbs/min from eyeballing it. This is the more commonly used 2871 compressor and it also the one used in the BNR S3.

The GTX does have higher PR capability however, a little better adiabatic efficiency, and would likely spool a little faster due to the smaller diameter compressor (likely less MOI).

I think you will be happy once we get your car dialed in.

You will have room in the future to run a lot of boost with the 3076, or run in the low 20's very effiiciently.

Just scale them so the axis align and overlay the outside border of one onto the other.

If you look at the source for that comparison, in the thread it is noted that the 2871 maps only go to 127k RPM, where the 2867 maps go to 150k rpm. So its not as huge of a difference as it may appear at first glance.

It was my understanding that the maps cover the full rated RPM window the turbo was designed for to use in continuous operation.

Under this definition the 2871 is not intended to rev over the 127k RPM limit on the compressor map and the 2867 is rated to go to 150k RPM due to the forged wheel coupled with smaller diameter or perhaps due to other rotating assembly limits (bearing loading limits and etc).

Of course, one can always overspin either to squeeze some more flow out at the risk of longevity.

Please let me know if you have different information.
