I wasn't considering a bov, just curious. Searched and couldn't find anything about it so I figured this was a good place to ask

@EdgeAutosport.com;

Do the CP-E injector seals now come with the studs and washers as well or is it still just the seals?

I have a 2007 MS3 w/ 70K miles, completely stock except for a short shifter which came on the car.

Taxes are coming and I have about $1500 to blow.

Everyone mentions motor mounts. I've heard good things about the JBR Trilogy. I do like a solid ride and I'm not a little bitch about vibrations.

Question: Why does the JBR RMM 88D look smaller then the 80D and 70D?

I'm also looking for Coilovers and I've good things about BC.

If there's any advice you would like to give on how to spend it, please do!

Thanks in advance.

We still have a few kits without, but all the new ones do come with studs and washers. I believe the new kits are about $10 more.

I'm not sure why the 88d rmm is smaller. Probably to give less flex in the bushing.

We sell Ksport coilovers and you will not regret getting them. I've driven MS3's with both the BC's and the Ksport Kontrol pro's and I would hands down go with the Ksports.

They are on the website now. However, we have 3 of the old kits in stock and will be letting them go for a steal of a deal

What spring rate should I run on my Gen 1 MS3? Whats the factory spring rate on Ksports?

Spring rate is what I'm worried about, I dont want bouncy nor welded suspension.

Front: 12.2 kgf/mm 683 lb/in
Rear: 4.7kgf/mm 263 lb/in

This is the rate on the KSports for Gen1. The front rate is a decent amount higher than many other kits out there but surprisingly, you wouldn't be able to tell by driving on them. It's all based on your perception of what "bouncy" is IMO. I think they are fine for how low they can go. Bounciness and ride quality has to do with shock valving too. The KSports seem to have a good setup even with mine at the middle stiffness level.

@edgeautosport;

Coming from a VW/Audi, I've learned those cars (2.0T FSI) have cam driven fuel pumps like the speeds do.

My cousin having a 2.0T FSI Audi A4 has told me how he has to change it every so often before it goes bad. A buddy of ours has this issue where the cam follower broke and he had to redo his head on his GTI (also 2.0T FSI).

Having the same design on our speeds, has anyone had this kind of a problem or heard of this disaster happening to someone? How often should it be replaced?

Thank you in advance!

I have not heard of someone with a broken/shattered cam follower or anyone that has needed to replace the internals. Only time it has any issue is when there are greater than 50/50 mixes of ethanol being used and even then it's an oil/lubrication problem instead of the actual pump.

Ok edge boys, what is your opinion on bellmouth down pipes vs ones with a divorced wastegate tube? I see most are a bellmouth but some say a divorced wastegate tube helps prevent boost creep? My next mod is a downpipe and there are so many options I want to make a good decision unlike some of my other mods. I SURE wont name names on the other ones.

Edit: Also I understand it is not good to run a catless downpipe on the stock turbo?

From what I gather the catless downpipe does not have enough back pressure for the turbo causing wear on the bearings. I see lots of people on here with catless versions so im not so sure its really that big of a deal.

Hmm... From my understanding on a turbo car you don't want back pressure.

Its well known that downpipes can affect the seals...catted or not. Bell mouth vs divorced is mostly a non issue as well. None of the DP's available for our car our bad tbh. I run corksport exhaust parts. Love it. The guys at edge can hook you up with some other quality dp's as well. Don't over think it.

You can turn the MIL off with the access port when running careless down pipes correct?

Yes, but the ecu still reads it as an error. It will not pass emissions at all.

As far as TX is concerned I am able to pass with a catless dp as long as there isn't someone looking at the pipe. The AP can make the code not come on but a not ready code will come on. In TX I can pass with 1 not ready code.

Default 300 miles on 2013 MS3

Bolded my questions in case you don't want to read the fluffy shit.

So my baby is brand spankin new and I opted for the 100k extended warranty. I had no intention of modding at all, but out of morbid curiosity (I blame this forum! ) I stopped by the Mazda dealer today and asked about their policy regarding bolt-ons.

The answer was refreshing - if you do something dumb that could cause a failure, we won't fix it. If it's unrelated, we'll gladly fix it. Also, we will not install any aftermarket parts for you. I specifically asked about a SRI, noting they had one displayed at their own parts counter, and they stated it was a complete non-issue to go aftermarket. (MAF damage my only concern)

That's a green light if I've ever seen one.

Time for the actual questions:

I've seen the Cobb SRI install video and it looks great - could you guesstimate the increase in dB to the cabin during highway cruising (80mph, 3.2k RPMish). I don't care about the added noise WOT.

The AP seems like a no brainer, but is it as simple as flashing my ECU back to stock before I head in for warranty work? Are their logs to be deleted? Should I not touch the AP until my warranty has expired?

It also sounds like the 70mm RMM is the way to go - I don't intend to be at the drag strip too often, I just want to be able to put the extra power down cleanly. Is the vibration from a 70mm RMM going to be pronounced or just feel like .. rough idle?

I just found some inserts available that appear to be a happy medium and they're cheap - looks like this will be my first "mod".

I don't want to do anything to risk my warranty obviously, and I have no intention of ever selling the MS3, but I do want to retain as much of a stock feel as possible while adding the touch of power. Thank you for your time.

I dont know about mazda dealers but there are good dealers out there. I know because I work at one and I will always warranty a problem unless the aftermarket part caused a direct problem. Even then I have replaced a bad strut under warranty even though it had lowering springs. Most dealers suck but you can find a few good ones.

Just ordered jbr short shifter with counterweight and bushings from you guys, can't wait to get em. The description for the Jbr stage 2 intake says "no ecu tuning needed". Is this correct because everyone else has advised other wise. Or am I reading correctly but still definitely need a HPFP before I order this bad boy? Also, it doesn't specify what the size of the intake are, is it a 3 inlet pipe, etc.?

Im running my stock HPFP with my intake and stage 1 cobb tune. Fuel pressure holds good between 1600 and 1750psi.

The stage 2 is about the same size as stock so you don't need to tune. The WP intake is 3.5 inches wide so you will need a tune. And some cars are ok without the hpfp with intake and others aren't. Just monitor your actual pressure to see where you stand.

So after some further Googling and research, it sounds like motor mounts or inserts for the RMM will likely cause some obnoxious vibration and possible cavitation/droning at highway speeds. I'll probably buy the inserts and sneak them in to see for myself, but my wife would castrate me if I "hosed up a perfectly good car".

Looks like SRI and AP, hope my stock HPFP holds up to the modest tune, and wait for 100k miles to go any further.

I did stop by the local tuner shop (mostly Honda) and he's going to take a look at the available RMMs and see if he can devise a happy medium. Dyno pulls are also only 3 for $40 this Sunday, so I'm going to find out where I sit stock. Damn you all for making me want to tune my brand new car

Any information you need about rmm's is here on this site. I'm not sure why you would waste not only your time but some Honda fags time trying to figure out how to find a 'happy" medium.

This thread is quite annoying now. Every, and I do mean every, noobie question has been answered on this wonderful forum more than enough times. Someone please ban me from this thread for I fear that I will not be able to contain my dickhole attitude much longer.

Arthur Wang works on all sorts of NA and Inducted vehicles, and he's highly regarded around here (Track Masters). Tossing around "Honda Fag" I'm sure gets you some cred with the other asshats, but it just makes you look like a douchebag to me.

And a 70 duro RMM or inserts still transmits more vibration than I care to communicate to the interior of the vehicle from what I've read, but I'll take the "Honda Fag's" expert opinion and experience with 1000's of performance vehicles pretty seriously when he's willing to offer.

Thanks for the reminder that every possible question regarding the MS3 has been answered already - may as well shut the site down and convert it to PDF.

Pretty sure I only said rmm's and not the whole platform. Reading comprehension > you. As far as cred here.........lol? You think I give a shit about cred? I will admit that I should have looked up Mr Wang before the fag comment, but meh. Can't change it now.

Edit: I just noticed you never said the guy's name in your original post so, without the proper information I had to go by what most honda tuner's are..especially in my area.

Just to let you know you might want to get a little bit thicker skin if you plan on staying around here for very long. People can seem harsh here but they really do mean well. Do a little looking around before you get yourself in some trouble you don't want to be in.
