(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Got into an accident with the speed, and @alittlefox; fucking saved my life and came through with the deal of a lifetime. 1996 Miata, Manual, with a brand new soft top and 155k on the clock (runs SMOOTH, aside from a little crank wobble which will soon be fixed.) for a crackhead price. Speed will be fixed soon, and will stay as DD, as this car becomes dedicated summer/track car. Right now it needs: new crank bolts/harmonic balancer/pulley (whichever is the culprit) Brakes Roll bar (just to be safe) oil change spark plugs hose kit then we can get started. Coilovers Tires/Wheels (at least 225s in the rear, aiming for 245s) Megasquirt 93 tune Then we get serious... Turbo kit. Piece my own, I want at least a GTX2871 in there, or a PTE 5252. Ported heads Cams Low torque tune, high revving. Should keep the stock block below 180wtq and above 200whp. After that, we get nasty... Built block, cams, head work, 6-speed tranny, north of 350whp with <300wtq. 7,800 Rev limit, track ready, so disgusting you puke after taking it around the track. That's the plan, let's see what happens.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Google loctite fix, if the keyway is actually damaged it will keep it running until you get the built engine in. I plan on a turbo kit as well, although nowhere near the same power goals. I think I'd be happy with 200whp, atleast for a while. Part of me want to get a factory speed downpipe, hack the flange off and make a K04 work. Could get everything here crackhead cheap. Probably a stupid idea and haven't done much digging into it but I thought it would be cool.

Unless you know for sure the timing belt has been changed recently, I'd probably go ahead and do it along w/ the water pump, thermostat, and seals (crankshaft, camshaft, CAS O-ring, etc.). Working on these damn cars and realizing how cheap and easy they are makes me want to take a BFH to my Speeds ... especially the asshole that is an MS6.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score The goodies have started rolling in! Tein Street Advance Coilovers, 16-way adjustable 2 New front hubs that needed to be replaced Brembo rotors w/ Hawk HPS pads SS Brake lines 4-point Style Bar Should be going in next weekend along with some new crank bolts and a new crank key to fix the crank wobble, now I'm in search of a good wheel/tire setup to stick some PHAT tires in this bitch This also came along with the news that the speed is totaled, so I'm keeping it a daily driver/streetable setup that can still do some AutoX or track days on the weekend, which probably means I'll take it VERY slowly when upping the power, can't risk blowing a motor and being carless.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Please cut that style bar into several pieces and use them as anal dildos; do not install this junk on your car. Edit: You will not be able to do track days with a style bar; you need a proper roll bar.

When you mentioned style bar in another thread I assumed you were talking rollbar. There are a few to choose from. Hard Dog, Boss Frog, etc...I'm personally going with a Blackbird Fabworx GT3 rollbar. They're more expensive but quality is top notch and look great. But most important, it along with the others I mentioned, are acceptable for track use.

Yeah I know that, I want to get a hard dog eventually, but I figured for $60 it's better than nothing in case of a rollover in the streets.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Car is also developing a small clunk which seems to be coming from the rear right at low speeds, and gets louder with braking until a certain point, then it stops. From my research it seems that there's some clips and pins that keep the brake calipers from rattling and apparently those can cause the issue, I'll check it out when I'm under the car but on top of @MazdaAtenza604; next week

| Not Ranked : 0 score Congrats on the car! I miss mine. This guy bought the car on thursday, installed the rollbar on friday, and rolled the thing right in front of me on Saturday. The driver was fine. He walked away, and instead of going in for surgery, he went to the Mazfest BBQ. Put in a rollbar if you plan on driving that car hard. Not only will it get you on the track, but it can save your life if you make a mistake at speed. I've seen it happen. The guy got a little squirrely over the Bus Stop (this was at Buttonwillow), over corrected into the kitty litter, and over he went. One small mistake. The 1st mod any Miata should have.

I've learned to pay the extra $50 for my anal vibrators. The cheap ones that advertise variable speed, but are really one consist speed with an on/off switch? Forget those, full control of anal induced orgasming or GTFO. We are talking about anal toys right? On a serious note... sucks to hear that the speed was totaled. At least we won't ever have to worry about swapping that damn inner tie rod that began to wobble.

I'm pretty sure that inner tie rod was still in the trunk when I went to pick up my AP and Meth kit, it sat there for nearly a full year hahaha Update on the build goals: Got some time to do some real digging and have to revise my goals a bit: Apparently anything above 7500rpms on the Miata engine throws reliability out the window, so we'll stick to that. Power wise, the 5-speed can only hold about 250whp, therefore I'll have to source a 6-speed along with a 3.9 rear end. Also, just a far away dream, but I came across this... ![]() and this... https://youtu.be/ux5oJv2_Xzg Both are flyin' Miata kits that use the Miata chassis/power train for a full conversion. I should be getting my check for the speed next week, someone tie me up...
