Default When In Doubt Check It Out!

Guys, I cannot stress this enough...ive heard of a few blown motors lately, all with the same situation. The car was acting up, so the person did a pull and ZZB! When in doubt, check it out. Stop and inspect for any suspects under the hood. If nothing is suspect feel the clutch for vibes. If its ok, drive it home very carefully and get it to the shop asap. If there are vibes in the clutch pedal theres a good chance you have a bent rod, so get it towed! Such a simple step can be so crucial and save you thousands and a lot of headaches. NEVER go WOT if it doesnt feel right! @Raider maybe this should be a sticky?

that's what people don't understand is, these cars have enough powa to literally tear them selves apart, if something is over looked ...

this is a boosted car!, not a n/a car witch you can get away with murder and they will hardy never come apart ....

a boosted car is not going to put up with any shit for hardy anytime

2 good hard pulls, with a fair amount of kr on a boosted car, and your going to be picking your junk up out the street, and at the very least a bent rod...

The vibs in the clutch I'm still not certain on that. Are they very noticeable? I feel very light ones in mine seemed normal as my previous car did the same. I've also noticed it a while ago when I first came to research through this forum and that was about 25,000 miles ago

Its natural to feel some, especially with motor mounts. If theres a bent rod itll really be noticeable and gradually get worse

Just curious if you had a bent rod would it show in your logs? For example, while doing a log would it show up in the KR table?
I've noticed a small amount vibes after my TP install, but those could possibly be from the movement of the TP? I have the SURE TP and it doesn't use hangers.

Yeah thats related to the TP...it depends how bad it is. If the rod is pretty bent yes it should show in the logs

TP = Test Pipe. It's the section of the exhaust containing the second catalytic converter.

Not engine stuff but I heard a wub-wub driving back from the gym the other day, so I turned down my dubstep and it was still going wub-wub. Pulled over immediately and my front left wheel had half the lugnuts so loose I could unscrew them with my fingers. I check them bi-weekly. I'd driven ~500 miles last weekend but that's scary as hell how loose they were. I keep a 150 ft-lb torque wrench in my car for this kind of stuff so I hit them all with an 85 and the sound went away. Crisis averted but it coulda been a really shitty day if I didn't pull over right away.
