Default Whats 08 MS3 Worth

Unfortunately my MS3 chunked 6th gear at 169K (always used Syn Motorcraft tranny fluid) on the odometer. I located a transmission for $850 locally in SE WI and I can put it in with 6-7 hrs. I decided I am not gonna do repairs. (I have a nice new car and I am tired!)
I am short 17 post of 100 so I can't / will not try and sell here until I get the required # of post.
What I am wondering is what do you all think is a good price, I will be trying to sell here locally (Milwaukee are) in the upper Midwest via Craigslist , Autotrader and Racing Junk.
Original owner, I am 64 now and I have taken care of this car because it has been my only hobby in 9 years as a DD. It has been to the drag strip 5-6 times in 9 years. Ran 13.5's , 105 new, last year went 13.9's 101
Paint is excellent shape considering miles, interior very good.
I just replaced all 4 lower control arms/ ball joints, bushings, all new hawk pads, front and rear rotors, 70% tread left on A/S Hankook, Konie yellows all around, MSCAI (replaced 2 years ago) and MSCBE, new rear stock MM and a James Baron in the box.
Car burns 1 qt. Mobil 1 in 5K miles. Have complete records.
Other than bushings and control arms I have only replaced 1 front O2 sensor. Turbo has never smoked but if you let it idle a while it will suck oil into intake (PVC I think) and smoke till you drive.
What do you think is a fair price?
Please don't make any offers or PM me until you see it posted, I do not want to get banned, as soon as I get the appropriate # of post I will put up for sale on here! This forum has saved my but a number (2 EGR cleanings save me a lot of $) of times and I don't break rules. I was thinking $3K, is this to much, sorry I have no idea, seen $4-5K for fully functional MS3 with this kind of miles. Please let me know what you think: Thanks for your help!!

I think you are in the ball park for selling to someone willing to make the repair. My car is similar at about 140,000 miles with mods below and perhaps worth $5,000 if I were to try to sell it (which I am not). I'm original owner, too and 67. I recently got a new car as my DD, and am keeping the MS3 as my fun car.

If the car is clean like you say, and your not in a rush to sell, start on the high end and wait for the right buyer. I would say post on Craigslist for $5k and see if you get any bites. I would also check craigslist to see what's around you for sale and adjust the price accordingly

As others said, if you have time start high and see what happens.

Thank You, Thought I might be high but doesn't hurt to start high. Enjoy your car It was a great 9 year run and you will enjoy it.

I'd start at 4k and take no less than 3k.

Nice looking fun ride you got there!

I have a gen 1 with 70 ish thousand on it. Don't drive her often and have babied her all her life. She did have to sit through a couple of deployments with minimum care (just someone to start the engine and maybe drive it for 1 min a month). I'm planning on selling it and buying a truck soon and no way willi take less than 5. It also has 2 sets of wheels, winter time wheels are from a Protege (Mazdaspeed) 17" Heart racing forged 17" with Bridgestone Blizzacks @about 5k miles on them.
