(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So some of you guys probably don't know this, but Canadian Speed3's have a larger windshield washer fluid reservoirs than our US brothers in the south. I've attached a photo showing the difference: You'll notice how there's that extra bit at the bottom. I'm trying to do a swap for a US tank because otherwise my V.2 Saikou Michi OCC kit won't fit. Anyhow, I'm looking and there doesn't seem to be a fluid level sensor on the US version I got. Anyone know if the Speed3 was ever offered without a level sensor?

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Tell you what... I currently have 2 x Canadian tanks with sensors... I don't think the sensor is plug and play however. You should however easily be able to plug the bigger tank into your car.

This is why people have so many problems with cars nowadays is because we need a sensor for everything. TPMS sensors? What the hell happened to taking literally 2 seconds and looking at your tires as you walk up to your drivers door? FFS!!!

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score See for Canadian models, we don't have TPMS (mostly because we all pretty much have two sets of wheels and rims for winter). We got stiffed on the heated seats option for the Speed3's. However the fluid level sensor is handy at times, I have considered using that same sensor for meth levels.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I can confirm that the US version doesn't have a level sensor. I was aiming my passenger fog light today and found a plug pinned to the fuild resivoir with a mazda cap plug. No sensor. I can double confirm there is no sensor because I tried to wash my window after I bought the car three weeks ago and it was bone dry. Thanks to no fluid and a dusty windshield.. I gained a wonderful FULL LENGTH scratch up the window from the wiper right infront of my face ![]() Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2 |

In fact I have a spare sensor I am selling at the moment for anyone looking to retrofit your US models with one... you know if you're going to use your washer fluid tank for meth.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I'll post what I sent you in our PM (with some small changes) in order to possibly help others. A possible install for the sensor is as follows: You basically install the sensor vertically on the bottom of the tank. It has a float ball where if it's in liquid the ball floats and the 2 contacts on the sensor are broken. If the water level gets low enough the ball drops and completes the circuit on the contacts. How I would wire it is build a simple LED circuit where you pump a ground through the sensor. Then put a 12V switched signal (with appropriate resistor of course) onto the positive leg of the LED. Attach the ground onto one side of the sensor contact and the LED's negative leg onto the other contact. Ball floats, LED doesn't have the ground to make the LED light up. Ball drops, LED gets a ground signal and completes the circuit and voila! Make sense?
