Default Thinking about giving up, how do I proceed?

Hey everyone. I bought a manifold and a tial 44mm wastegate to fix my BNR S4 creep, but now that I have everything off, I am thinking that I can't keep throwing $1000 fixes at this thing every month. I'm considering getting rid of it and moving on, but here's what I am thinking. I love the way the BT MS6 drives, I hate that I can't drive it more than a day without something going wrong. It was fun stock, but I hate having to baby it because the turbo murders rods. Plus I spent over $4k to get this damn BNR on with all the life support I *thought* would made it work right. I'll just lay it out, as it stands I've got $13k in the car and I see no end in sight. If I sell it I know I am hoping for $8k but I know it won't happen. Has clearcoat missing on the roof and spoiler, mechanically is perfect minus all the boost creep BS. 117k miles. Not sure what is realistic, but what would ya'll do in this situation? Feels like an abusive relationship. Would you keep pushing on? Would you rebuild the stocker and put it back on? Would you sell it as is after fixing it? Would you stock it, sell it, sell parts? I am truly not sure what to do.

I had boost creep once. I just turned up the boost down low and now it's nice a flat.

You already bought the parts. Put them on and see how it works out, then decide.

Really not enough info in your post to say one way or the other...

I will tell you that pretty much no one gets out of a car what they put into it. If you don't like diagnosis and turning wrenches, then figure out your most cost-effective exit.

This. Just finish the job and drive it a while. You gotta do that to sell it, anyway, if you choose to do so.

It goes with the territory when you are modifying a car that is already over twelve years old. Once you seriously bump up the power, things break on even a new car. Add the wear on the parts you've not already replaced and monthly repair bills are a reality.

Even if you spend serious bucks on a new car, if you have the mod bug, and start bumping up the power, then, again . . . shit breaks.

This^

I havent made the first payment yet on my EB F150 and I already have a catch can and looking to get a tuner.
Not to mention my fantasy plans of A2W intercooling and compound turbos (because I'm crazy and I think it'll fit)

Yeah I agree. I'll fix it and see what I think after that. Anyone have any clue if we should air dam the hood when fmic? I know speed 3 do it, but, I'm not sure on ours.

Factory air flow still help to cool the engine bay but i don't know if you can get better FMIC cooling flow below the crash bar by blocking the top parts above the crash bar...? To my ignorant point of view, it won't do much but i may be wrong....

Yes put it back on the road and you will feel better about it....just keep in mind about monthly paiements of such a brand new car with that power figures....Maybe you are still saving money...
Yes you can get a 5years old corrola for cheap and just do oil changes but it won't be the same.....This is why i mod my speed and run a 2013 mz3 the other half of the time....I know if i would like to drive the speed everyday it would cost more and came with some risks of need to call off because the car is broken....

Easy to get discouraged when you spend so much time and money and don't get anywhere. I get it. But, I'd try one more time and if you don't get the result you want then part out all the BT parts (first dibs!) and sell it stock.

Or part out the entire car. You might get more money that way as the motor has fairly low miles on it.

Sucks you had to resort to EWG to solve the creep. However if you don't mind the extra noise its a much more efficient and responsive setup! What tuner are you working with?

I am working with Alan at edgeauto. I decided to get their new e-tune because I was working with Nishan, but I had waited 3+ months to get a full tune and had to ride on base map for that time. Gave up waiting, but Alan is super cool.
I found a salvage speed6 for pretty cheap and as I clicked the button to buy it someone else got it. I have TERRIBLE luck buying cars. I need a new front bumper but I'm not about to pay $400 for it.

I went EWG because I was creeping to the moon. I eliminated every possibility twice and found that my setup just flows so well that the wastegate has no chance. I COMPLETELY removed the wastegate actuator and wired the wastegate flap wide open, and still built 8 psi and that was at 4000rpm and it was still climbing at about 45 degrees outside. That was when I knew something was bad wrong. If going from a 20mm to 44mm wastegate doesn't fix this problem, I am beyond done with this car. I don't see how it can't work though. The hotside on the BNR S4 is just far too small imho. 350 awhp and 22psi SHOULD NOT require an EWG. I didn't even consider EWG until I HAD to. I highly doubt porting would fix the problem, most definitely not when I crept to 27psi. Poor ringlands.
