Default Rod Knock Example

Just thought I would throw these up here for knowledge and training purposes.
This is what a rod knock in a MZR DISI long block sounds like.
Engine Right Side
Engine Left Side
Intake with some Throttle

Its not quite ZZB, but it could turn into a "walking home" situation very quickly.
FWIW, this is the result of redline RPMS, plus low oil, plus a hard left hand turn. It just ran dry and developed the knock.

Found your main problem. In fact, this was really your only problem.

Probably. It wasnt low, but low enough to loose pickup obviously. The biggest contributing factor was probably neglect.
It was elk hunting season, so I just wasnt driving the car as much as I should, I was driving my old 4x4 pickup instead.

Even better, you can unplug a coil at a time to narrow it down to which cylinder it is.

Balance test.
