Why should Cobb ever give a trade in discount? I mean, what should they do then with all those ole v2's?

Cobb is like every other company, they want to sell a product and make profit with it. I think there was a lot of work done to realize this new v3 and did cost lot of money. And Cobb took also care about all user requests ( on/off switch, larger screen, multiple parameter log...). So be happy that Cobb releases such a great product for our platform.

They are a company and I want to give them money. lol. They should do nothing with the old v2, would be great if they just sold the hardware up grade for a bit more then they pay for the unit and not make people pay twice for the software. This would be win win... the more I think about it the more I am sure they will offer something for all us v2 owners. I will just sit and wait to see what they do.

Not to be a naysayer, but I'm probably less excited about this, seeing as I own a v2. Realistically, those of us currently with an AP are looking at spending a lot of money on something that's basically prettier and only marginally more useful than the one we currently have. Yes, it's really cool looking, and the bigger screen is nice, and the on/off button is nice, but as far as its primary functions (ie tuning the car and taking logs), it does the exact same thing in the same way. OK, it's faster flashing, but I'm usually not in a huge rush to flash a map when I do it anyhow. Functionally, this seems iterative rather than revolutionary. No bluetooth, no on-the-fly flashing, no new ways of interacting with the ECU... The best part is the gauge readout, but you could conceivably spend a lot less on an ultragauge or something like that for the same basic function. Bottom line is that it doesn't make the car go faster than the v2 does.

My first inclination was to sell my AP right now and get this one next week (cause it is really sweet looking), and depending on if there's a group buy and what the price is I may still do that, but for me I'll most likely spend the money on other upgrades first.

That being said, it looks awesome, and if I didn't already have an AP, I'd be getting on Aug 1, along with a dozen roses for when I explain the purchase to the wife.

just the fact that this is coming out with damn near no notice is going to completely fuck the resale's couch man. some companies never seise to amaze me with certain things. i love cobb and their app but this is kind of a shot in the back if you ask me. gonna need a damn good trade in for it to be even thought about

What really fucks the resale is cobb had a buy 4 get 1 free deal over the 4th so shops like me stocked up and now are stock holding huge inventory
