(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I blew my speed3 motor such a sad day I was curious if it was possible or if anyone tried to swap the non turbo 2.3 into the speed3. I'm looking to get back on the road again any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk |

On this car I would image it isn't that bad. But you would run into alot of issues with getting the harnesses to match etc. Just not worth the time involved I would think.

| Not Ranked : 0 score That's not the point, the point is if these cars were easily swap able people would be doing it like they do Hondas....and they aren't, so it isn't easy

| Not Ranked : 0 score In the Honda world, guys are swapping k20/24 engines into chassis that have less powerful engines. I see what you're sayin about the possibilities in the Honda world, but the swaps they are performing are for more powerful engines. They don't buy a civic SI and say oh let me swap a D16y8 engine into my car. That's what this guy was doing, taking a great car with powerful engine and replacing it with a less powerful one.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Ok that's great, but that doesn't answer if it was possible. Speed3 motors are expensive. I was hoping for a cheaper alternative to that because parting the car out is my last option and I don't really want to do that. Or if there's another motor that would fit? | Not Ranked : 0 score OK Malox or whatever your name is. Take yourself on over to Ebay, or even "gasp" craigslist and search for a good used motor. Just because you blew your shit up doesn't mean you have to buy a new one. Do you even understand that the wiring harness, ECU, etc etc would need to be swapped? If not, please do as Djohns said and sell it to someone that wont ruin it.

| Not Ranked : 0 score How is $4,100 expensive? Just rebuild it yourself to factory specs and it's even cheaper, or build it for about the same cost, assuming you don't go power hungry and start adding cost to a bigger turbo and manifolds etc. MZR DISI Remanufactured Long Block Mazdaspeed 3 Mazdaspeed 6 2006-2013 If somehow that is too expensive, go buy yourself a beater until you are financially stable. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score The short answer is, don't swap the 2.3 non turbo engine into your speed. Anything is possible with enough sweat and tears, and this scenario will most assuredly be more tears with a side of sweat. Since you already have a beater, and money is not all there. I would rather take the time, research, and build the engine either to factory specs, or go crazy with it. You'll learn a lot and have life experiences from it as well, going to meets saying "I built that, it's a part of me now" Edit: Just don't. Many sweats and tears to be had. Build or sell. |

Of course you would need to post proper pics in the forums.
