I've never taken this engine apart, but is there anything preventing rods being installed without pulling the engine? At some point I want to do rods just to avoid buying a new block when the stockers go, but I'd rather leave the block in as I don't have a crane or stands or anywhere to park that stuff while it's being used.

There is a guy from Croatia here on the forum who took his car (a MS6) to a shop to replace the rods (4th was bent IIRC) and they did that with the engine on the car. I think this should work pretty much in the same way for a MS3.

I'm thinking to acquire some forged rods as well and mate them with stock pistons. I hope I'll be able to replace the rods without taking the whole car apart.

Assuming MS6 with same mods should be close to the 400 since its the same engine but since the rear axles are moving maybe a little less?

Correct drive train loss kills you guys. I think 360-390 on an ms6 sounds very reasonable.

IMHO there are a lot of unnecessary parts (or maybe they are just non-critical but nice to have and 400whp may come easily with those on the car) listed in the fist post of this thread such as manifold and catback (and maybe others), but I'm not sure if 400WHP can be achieved safely without an upgraded MAP sensor or something to tell you what boost are you at when targeting for a specific load (such as the Guardian Angel or something similar).

Now a question: does anybody have a clue how much time it may take for the stock relief valve to wear out after we start commanding 1800+PSI FRP which obviously will make the pressure exceed 1900-1950PSI (I see 2050 quite often)?
