Question How do I remove these ugly door sill guards?

I'm not sure what exactly they are called but they are the guards in the attached picture. They have discolored and turned black. I would like to remove them but I have tried goof off and it didn't seem like it loosened them at all. I supposed I could also try painting them if that doesn't work. Suggestions?

What you are seeing is most likely black mold. Mold grows in moist areas that stay dark, like a closed car door.

While the usual remedy for mold is bleach and sunlight, bleach can damage the car paint.

Try this instead:

https://itstillruns.com/remove-mold-...t-7528784.html

If you end up using bleach if above does not get the desired result, mask off the painted area around that strip, apply the bleach only to the mold. Scrub it in with a tooth brush or similar soft bristle brush. Let it soak a bit, brush some more until the mold is gone. and then thoroughly wash it off with soap and water. Vinegar also neutralizes bleach, but should be rinsed off as soon as it soaks in. Only takes a few seconds to neutralize the bleach. Thoroughly rinse and then dry with a blow dryer.

Heat it up then peel it off. Then use your favorite adhesive remover to remove the residue.

I waited until it got hot out and scraped them off with a plastic scraper. Took me like an hour but it was worth it. Looks much better now.
