Interested.

But I'm also concerned about price. If its at or over $700, I would absolutely NOT buy a TMIC for that price as a little bit more gets you a FMIC.

I also need a little more info on installation. I'm trying to figure out exactly what tru boost was saying you need to cut. If I cant put the car back to stock condition, thats also going to be a problem for me.

not even close !! IF this get the "go ahead" it will be priced less than the FMIC's out there. think somewhere along the lines of.... $700-800
THAT IS 100% UNOFFICIAL just my personal estimate !!

$800 would be more expensive than a FMIC from Exhaust Depot :- /

I know this is an unofficial price range, but if it's $700-$800, I'm not going to even bother with it, I'll just get the Exhaust Depot FMIC.

Could be interested depending on price, since I am in the market for a TMIC. The CO2 feature is a nice touch, but honestly, I personally wouldn't use it, so to pay more for that wouldn't make sense to me.

Of course the other features sound great.

i will say this, even if it retails for $700 i am going to go out on a limb and say it will perform better than a FMIC priced in the next lowest bracket

FMIC isnt all its cracked up to be to be honest. i have done LOTS of data logs pesonally as well as shared some with fellow members. in all hoesty the TMIC out performed BOTH of the FMICS users cars i talked to. that was the stocker too ! my cruising BOOST temps are usually only 15-20 degrees hotter than amb. both of the guys i talked to saw logs from told me they usually see 30+ degrees over amb. the only exception that benefits the FMIC is PROLONGED heat soak. the TMIC being on top obviosly absorbes some heat. the FMIC wont absorb it but there also isnt anything cooling it from a stop. i have NEVER had a heatsoak issue with my TMIC, and i expect to have fantastic results the CO2 cooling ! i admit i didnt realize the exhaust depot FMIC was so cheap, but knowing how much these materials cost i would say in that situation "you get what you pay for". my couplers are not here yet so no updates. i was told not to expect them until late next week.

I dont know about that one bro. When you crank the boost up on the stock K04, you do notice a difference. I did coming from an ETS to a FMIC. It all boils down to the mods you have, including whether or not your spinning the piss out of the stock turbo.

Big turbo cars really gain the power with the bigger FMIC. People have a preference and its nice to see TRZ possibly competing against ETS because as of late, ETS has had some questionable quality and maintaining stock of the tmic. Its definitely a big win for the community if they push this out the door.

just going off what i have seen man. even cranking 20+psi out of a k04 on a stock IC i usually start a 1/4 mile run from about 90 degress on boost temp. by the end of the run it is still only 105-110 !!

NICE!!!!

Looks like it would flow 100% better than stock with the new end tank... even with the C02 coils...

You cant just look at temps.. you need to look at the RESTRICTION the tmic is providing and the surface area you are lacking . TMICs heatsoak badly from the burnout box, all the way up to the staging. Once you are on the go, you are still going to need a couple hundred feet before the heat is pumped out and by that time, its already cost ya a few tenths. You still have surface are and restriction running against you, not to mention, lower torque figures.

I'm with Haltech on this one... a FMIC is almost always going to be a much more efficient than a standard top mount.

However, CO2 and water injection can change the equation significantly and help eliminate many of the problems you'll see in a TMIC. Still not going to be as good as a FMIC and especially not as good as a FMIC with WI / CO2.

I'd like to see some numbers on this thing... specifically pressure drop and CFM.

Its not perfect, but honestly, we really need another TMIC solution between the autoexe and the ETS. There are plenty of people out there that don't want to go FMIC (believe it or not) b/c they want to be able to very quickly and easily swap it out for the stock unit for warranty work. Or, people who have had their engine fall out and need that TT FEM as an extra insurance policy. Or even people just wanting to keep the car as a sleeper.

I'm very curious as to how this TRZ IC will perform with the addition of a balls out CO2 system.

Co2 will cost you an arm and leg once you start using the bottle. In the end, you would have spent more and gained little over a FMIC. Thats the reality of it. The coils just add more restriction in the system.

CO2 is cheap especially when bought in bulk. it's way cheaper than nitrous. It's not like it's going to be used all the time anyways.

Add up the usage and you will be over the cost of a fmic in no time. Most people arent going to buy in bulk, which include a refill station.

A thought about the coils inside the intercooler.... if you run CO2 through them, won't condensation form? Potentially large droplets?

I like the idea of those coils, but I think I'd prefer to just run my water injection and call it a day. Any way to get the IC without the CO2 stuff?

get rid of the co2 gimic and it might be a good product. In all honesty welded end tanks like these = not so nice. Get som correctly designed cast end tanks then it gets better. At the price point it does not look like a nice looking product.
