Default best boost control source to use

1. manual boost controller
2.electronic boost controller
3.grimmspeed boost solenoid

i've looked all over the forums, but everywhere i look i am just finding mixed reviews about everything..so pretty much i am asking what would be the best way to control boost now for me...i am running the halloman mbc, but i am ntoa fan of it
MIDORI likes this.

A good tuner could make any one of those three control your boost just fine..

If you've got an AP get the grimmspeed or a perrin EBCS and let the AP/ECM do the work...

You get stupid replys because you haven't donated.

Why should we, the contributing members of this forum, help out someone who hasn't contributed to this forum?

In case you haven't figured it out yet, this forum is supported by its members not vendors or advertisments. Did you think a forum of this magnitude is free to run???

We will give a fuck about you once you become a contributing member of OUR forum!

Cheers!

I'm having issues controlling boost and believe I have a damaged OEM boost control solenoid. Does the Grimmspeed EBCS fit the genpu's?

If you wanted to, you could use the grimmspeed in 2 port mode, and yes, it is a direct fit (as easy as 3 vacuum lines and a plug).

The directions for the grimmspeed on on their site, in pdf form, for both 2 and 3 port mode hook-ups.

If you decide to use the grimmspeed in 3 port mode, it will need to be tuned for.

Thank you for affirming that. I'm considering this because of Nataphen's suggestion. He said he would be able to tune it through ATR.

My car didn't like the Grimmspeed EBCS.

I switched to a Turbosmart MBC... car performs much better. Just my personal experience.

I'd prolly keep the manual, man. Less margin for error imo.

Turbosmart dual stage MBC FTW!! I really liked mine. The boost is rock solid with no spikes and def holds better/longer.

...and its for sale here: http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...age-mbc-82769/
