(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hello all, Picked up an 08.5 speed3 about a year ago. All original everything (as far as I was told and am aware of). I have a question about the behavior of the door locks. just recently I installed an aftermarket android touch screen Eonon head unit that was designed specifically for the gen 1 mazda. When I was setting it up in a parking lot, my battery died (was not running the car, as I have a mini game I personally play to see how high I can get my average mpg). When I jump started the car, the door locks automatically locked and unlocked. From then on, the car would automatically lock the doors when the car was started, and automatically unlock all the doors when the car was shut off. It did this for a while until I was idling to run inside a friend's house to pick up a package real quick, and just manually unlocked the driver door while the car was still running. The car has not auto locked or unlocked since. Is this auto locking/unlocking behavior normal for the car? If so, what happened that got it to work again, and why doesn't it still work now? I have tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting again (the only thing that happened when it started to work), and nothing. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score That's pretty odd, but then again quirky software issues aren't all that uncommon. I would have thought that replicating what happened the first time would make it work like that again but I guess it didn't. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score thanks for the responses, and sorry for my delayed response, apparently I wasn't receiving notifications for new posts. Yea, I was thinking it had to do with removing the oem radio that unlocked the software programming for the car, but I don't know the programming sequence (if there even is one). I mean, I do have access to the on board trip computer now, which was disabled for non dealer access with the 8.5 update. But besides just programming radio stations and EQ and android apps, I didn't mess with any of the canbus or wheel key options for the new headunit, so couldn't think of anything else that would change this |
