Really awesome! Would love to see some data and review from testers as I do wonder how much this would help in Texas.

I was scrolling down just to mention you lol. It would be hard for this to not be an improvement over stock.

Does this still fit for those running a FMIC where the piping runs in between the intake manifold and radiator? Such as the cxracing or CPE kit?

Does the system use more coolant because of the bigger core? Is it lighter weight than the stock radiator?

I guess in the heat of summer this will help keep BAT's down because the block won't be so hot which is pretty cool.

do you have any idea what a radiator is, how it works or what it does?

Obviously yes....they are legit questions.

Coolant amount, could be the same if it's just bigger fins/surface area...could be more if the actual core and passages are longer/bigger.

BAT's lower if the engine block isn't heat soaking everything (ie efficiently transfering heat through the radiator)...but won't make much difference unless your stock radiator wasn't able to keep up, since the thermostat should maintain a relatively constant temp under normal conditions.

Don't be a prick.

looking at where the mounting points are from the pictures it bulges more forward to the ac condenser than to the rear toward the intake mani, it should be the same clearance or just a tad less but not enough to mess with FMIC piping.

Explain then oh wise godly one, until then you're just full of shit.

*edit*

Thinking about this, honestly can you explain? If I'm missing something here...the only one that is pretty unlikely is lighter weight, although yes I think it would be possible (more thermal efficiency through better materials, thinner but more plentiful fins, etc) it should have been obvious that that's probably not the case. The other two seem to make sense.

This is terrible marketing, if your going to sell a product you need to tell the consumer why they should replace their radiator with this one. What will this do for me? Or how will this be better?

A larger radiator is not a product that need explanation. If you needed one you would know.

A larger radiator will have a larger capacity which will increase the thermal mass of the coolant meaning it will take longer for the coolant to overheat. it will also have longer fins and possibly a better optimized fin configuration to aid the radiator in shedding heat.

@Easter Bunny;, the sales of such a radiator could benefit by providing data points of why theirs is better. @CorkSport; should know by now that we demand data. Why they continue not to provide such data upon release is really quite baffling. This practice isn't the most confidence inspiring and always leaves people feeling like they're hiding something. Why do we continually have to beg and plead @CorkSport; for information that the average consumer needs to make an informed purchase? Why must we continually test their products for them?

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see new products, I just wish they would wake the fuck up and give us some hard data on a release for once, clearly showing how this will benefit us.

Also, by data, I mean give us some temp comparisons such as cool down, warm up, heat soak at a dead stop and so on. Not just "well it's bigger, it has to be better!!" because that's not always the case.

Larger is subject to interpretation. What is larger? I think you mean thermal capacity of the cooling system instead of thermal mass of the coolant.

Data is what we need to verify that this is indeed an upgrade. A poorly designed radiator with a larger capacity is not, and will not respond the same as, a radiator with an optimized fin configuration.

That was a better response, still a bit vague but not as rude lol

Yeah, pretty obvious when you need cooling system upgrades...you can't keep coolant temps within operating temperature.

Still would be interesting to see what the actual benefits are rather than just it's bigger.

I'm also interested in the clearance allowed by the new radiator. Both front and rear.

I meant what i said, but both items are related

its a radiator not rocket science. I will go out on a limb and say without a doubt that this is better than the stock one. I challenge someone to install this and show scientifically that it did not improve the coolant temperatures. As i stated before simply allowing more coolant into the system is going to provide a tremendous benefit.

If I didn't need SEALS and a larger METH TANK I'd be picking this thing up now. 3 kids needing shit like clothing and food make it hard to spend car money.

Again, correct me if I'm wrong, but given that there is a thermostat to control coolant temperature, unless you are exceeded the thermal capacity of the cooling system this will provide zero benefits.

Would be relatively easy to prove scientifically that it will not improve coolant temperatures up here in the snowy white north lol

its a radiator not rocket science. I will go out on a limb and say without a doubt that this is better than the stock one. I challenge someone to install this and show scientifically that it did not improve the coolant temperatures. As i stated before simply allowing more coolant into the system is going to provide a tremendous benefit.
You are absolutely right, while not rocket science, my point was they didn't even say it increases coolant capacity of the system and by how much, therefore from their description they are marketing this as an appearance modification

The car doesn't really over heat unless there is a mechanical problem. What happens is coolant temps rise to about 225F at this point the fans are running at mid to high speed and the motor will start to cut power output until the heat in matches the heat out if that makes sense. I managed to lower my ECT by about 15F across the board with the use of water and Mocool instead of coolant. With the new rad, I'm hoping I can extend it to a full 30-45min car on track without needing to come in. The extra cooling capacity basically delays this from happening or will preventing it altogether. I may end up putting one of these on the racecar for full track use.

TL/DR

Bigger rad means you can beat on it longer on track before heat soak.

How is this even a discussion. Larger surface area=more heat transferred from the fluid to the crossflowing air. Of course this will increase the time it takes for the engine to overheat when you're driving balls to the wall. This is probably more of a benefit if you track the car., for every day driving I doubt you'd see much benefit.

The bottom eq. is for parallel flow but whatever it's similar regardless. If you solve it you find q=UA(delta(T_lm)), where lm=log mean. Thus, as A increases q increases, or the amount of heat transferred increases.
