Here's the new top mount with 44mm V-band at angle to fix the clearance issue. Angles away from the alternator and also away from the block.

Haven't had another T4 order yet but I've tilted the flange away from the head a little on the CAD drawing.

Just a heads up... @crazyp brought up in his thread that his turbo nuts bad backed off (a ton) as a result of the washers we both used (listed in OP, but edited w/ this warning). My turbo was off recently at the dealer, but one had still recently backed out a bit (back left one here):

@jmhinkle said to use lock washers instead, and that should do the trick.

I've never had one back out, but I did have the lock nuts seize up and cause the studs to back out when I was trying to swap turbos. That, in turn, caused the studs to gall inside the manifold and break off two of them. Best bet is probably loc-tite on the bottom of the stud into the manifold, and use a lock washer and regular nut on top. Coat the top in anti-seize as well so the nuts don't corrode to the studs.

Im throwing the idea around of going with a GTX3071R with a top mount like this, throwing some rods and the new mazda pistons in my spare long block (if block OK) with the big valve head and using the spearco 1-992 FMIC. Ive always wanted to do this as that was why I was stockpiling parts, but it is a lot to take on at the moment. Im trying to figure out costs on a spreadsheet. Can I get a twin scroll GTX3071? I think cause the isn't the difference on the compressor side only? Also Ive got to locate a machine shop around here, but should be too much of a problem being right next to Sikorsky.

The hood is different, so it doesn't fit under the gad damn hood, lol. But iirc, it can fit if you cut some of the crowl off, but I don't really remember now, tbh. Sell your ms3, buy an ms6, and use excess funds for @SPEED6 KILLAH; SB build and go with top mount set up

@djuosnteisn; could elaborate on ms3 issue.

Not the hood. It is the cowl area. The 6 has more room to the windshield, but the 3 has more room down lower. Top mount can be done with the twisted Perm kit easier than anything else, but it is another beast altogether.

Does anyone know of someone who can make an intake for the top mount setup? It is the last thing I have left to do for my top mount setup. @djuosnteisn; doesn't seem to be here anymore and was the only person to have made them.

I can't believe how much work this fucking thing was. The install wasn't that bad, thanks to DJ and Joel, but fuck, the prep work was intensive for a dim witted cpa.

@jmhinkle; is Dustin still making these?

EDIT: I couldn't spell Dustin's MSF name to save both my nuts, or 3" off my prick.

He's moved on to other things. There were only a limited number of SteedSpeed manifolds to begin with.

That's why I have the WTF? in there. Some mod jacked with it awhile ago and I gave up trying to fix it. I don't frequent these forums much anymore so it doesn't matter. I'm not building the GTR, maybe some light restoration if anything. I have a thread I started from when I maybe the initial purchase with the same pics from facebook. Nothing special.

Right on broseph. I'm not on here much myself (have nothing to contribute, but do enjoy Internet Gold). Now the WTF makes sense, haha. Hey it's better than "I got this" in your sig or anywhere else. I want the fuckers that started that gay saying shot in the fucking head. I can't get away from it, and it's weaksauce. First it was supposed to be 'urban,' and it sucked balls then. Now I hear it in insurance commercials and on the news, and writers forcibly working it into movies. I'd put my K04 back on (if I still had it), if I never had to to hear those fucking words again. I got this... FUCK YOU.

Mental build , i know its a old thread but surely you will need an effective way of dissipating that heat .For the sake of the bonnet paint

The airflow through the engine bay is more than enough. Several of us have been on topmounts over 4 years without any problems at all.

Well, I've had a few problems in the last 4 years, but it turns out they are mostly related to my alcoholism, and completely unrelated to my car, or airflow under the hood. Go figure.

EDIT: PS Joel, I'm still running that 'upgraded' coolant return line you suggested ($50 for like 3'... my original coolant line fried over time, but corrected info in OP)... the shit that failed on you iirc. I checked mine the other day, and the shit looks brand new. Granted, I have 45K on the car, and only about 15K since BT.

Bruh, I had another problem with my coolant return line. I need to replace the line again. I was getting dyno tuned by @atvfreek; and it started leaking bad on the second E85 run. But at just 22psi, she's making 345/350, which will keep me content as my daily driver, and I'll turn up the boost a notch once I get the coolant line fixed.

Here's a pull from today:
