Here's what I've gotten out of two separate drains -- about 8000 miles worth. If you don't have an OCC, this stuff is going back into your engine.

Took your advice, installed this today.
F U PCV!!

Catch BEE-YOTCH

I decided against the drain tube because looking at it I could just stick a container from the top and set it on the belly pan. Then reach down to open it and lift it back out after.

*EDIT*
Nah, I just looked at it and I think I will be putting the drain on it. However, I have no heat gun or small zip ties so that'll be waiting till I get something to keep it on... or I can just put it on when I drain then take it off after.

A zip tie was included for the drain hose and I doubt you'll need to heat it up to slip the hose on. Give it a shot.

Yes, I have several of the bigger zip ties but didn't see a smaller one, ain't no thang. I got the hose on no problem, for some reason I thought it was the heat shrinking type hose. I tried to zip tie with the bigger ones but since it is such a small diameter the two ties I tried to use broke at the head cause of the angle I suppose.

Kind of funny looking at this post, installed and routed everything in the tightest spaces, PITA hose clips, then get to a ziptie drain hose and I'm like

Default PCV valve moved.

Hi everyone,

I am working on the Stage 2 JBR OCC install, and everything is smooth, but I did run into one snag. The PCV valve (green) that sticks out perpendicular to the block, did not allow me any room to fit the hose + elbow fitting. In the process of wiggling the hose on, the green plastic piece now swivels left and right.

I have not found anything online about this, so I am not sure if 1) I've ruined my PCV valve connection, or 2) if it's designed to do this.

I don't believe I'm 'removing this piece as it swivels both left and right. With it swiveled 45deg to one side, I was able to fit the hose connection on, but I am afraid to start it.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
-Paul

Thank you baby Jesus.

This should definitely be included in the instructions!

Otherwise, very nice install. Time to 'fire it up' like my man, Busta Rhymes.

@agentgordon27; you installation is backwards... the check should go into the PCV not to the intake like you have it on your picture #2

That's only if your running the VTA kit. As long as he isn't running the VTA kit he's correct.

Exactly, The picture Matches what jbarone explained there, the check valve should go on the PCV side and he put the valve going to the intake...

forget about letters, compare his picture and the picture on the instructions....
@jbarone; is it right or wrong the way @agentgordon27; installed his kit?
Look at his second picture

Looks like were looking at 2 different sets of instructions. Read the screen shot I took. I think the ones that I have are the most recent.

Sounds good @jbarone; you probably should clean this up so no one gets mis informed.

ask me how I know... I did this last weekend... following the wrong instructions, realized after i was done so i had to uninstall everything again... and at the first page of the instructions says for kits before this date use this and for kits after that date use that, so shame on us for not reading enough

That freaking PCV valve was a B#$ to remove the hose TWO TIMES!!

Note JBR changed the location of the CV, by popular demand.

There are two kits, one with the CV on the PCV side (pre 12/12), and another (post 12/12) with CV on the intake side. The CV needs to be set up to move air into the intake, closed to air moving back to the PCV.

The kit agentgorden is rocking is the newer setup.

then why on his pictures his CV is going into the intake side on the hose? not right next to the OCC like the instructions show?

That freaking PCV valve was a B#$ to remove the hose TWO TIMES!!
That sucks I installed the vta kit last weekend and ordered the stage 2 kit but they were out of Check Valves. I'm glad to clear this up before I get the check valve in. It looks like I won't have to remove that hose now I can just put the CV before the catch can which will be easier than removing it from the PCV valve like you had to.

if i was to do it like the newer instructions i was missing a elbow, that is the only reason i found out something was wrong with my install... i couldve gone and buy another elbow from home depot but had no car! so had to uninstall and follow the older instructions

Sorry, did not see that must be newer. Easier to fit CV so you don't have to wrestle it up that narrow space?

Don't think it makes too much diff, as long as it points the right way?

my point is that he has his CV going in the wrong spot, he has it going in the intake hose but is has to go on the PCV hose, dont know if that will make any difference waiting on jbarone to chime in....

if he had it on the pcv hose then it should`nt matter in which end.. but this is not the case =\

Check this out, the most recent photo you have is the THIRD set of instructions that I have seen. The first I had that I downloaded AFTER the whole before this date and after that then do it this way.

Also, my check valve was actually built different from what the photo was showing, arrow was pointing the right way but the smaller brass insert (or whatever it is) was on a top instead of on the bottom.

ALSO, the arrow was not shown or specified on my original instructions, the second set I saw were the same as the original I downloaded and printed but there was an added red arrow (correction, black arrow like @DTKII; posted) on the check valve dictating the way the arrow should point when installed. This mention makes it the third set with different info I have seen.

Let me get some scans of the printed out instructions I used and post them up to try to figure this out.

EDIT
DTKII actually has the ones I used, the NEXT page I have actually has the check valve flipped the way I received it as installed on the IM side. (step 11 on my instructions)

I do understand that there are more than one set of instructions but all of them have the cv on the hose that connects to the pcv and your pictures shows your cv connected to the hose that's going to your intake.

You guys are really putting way too much thought into this. Stop analyzing the pictures and follow the instructions. We update our instructions to make things a little bit easier for you all, just follow the instructions.

totally just looked up candy crush
plus looking at the check valve installed next to the can photo, the arrow is pointing the same direction as mine that is on the intake hose side, its just moved down for ease of install. DAMMIT, I knicked up my knuckles feeling around my engine bay making sure it was right, @Cevaes_64; owes me some neosporin and band-aids.

Just follow JBR's provided instructions and you'll be fine. I'm amazed at how different the contents of the can is depending on what time of year it is. Again, glad this stuff is not ending up back in the engine.

Here's the result of my spring time OCC draining; this represents about 4-5 months worth. Testament enough that anyone without a JBR OCC needs one.
