Default Which Mount to get

Ok guys so I am undecided on which route to go and need some guidance. I currently have the 80 duro billet mount which seems to have done fairly well at the track last weekend, but left me wanting more.

Should I upgrade to the 88 chrome moly mount, Or should I keep the 80d and add the PMM?

The vibes from the 80d mount dont bother me at all, but have heard the PMM adds a good bit of vibes. I plan to track the car until I reach a goal. Whatever that is lol. Still, it is my DD so would like to keep as much of the "comfort" as possible.

I wish there were locals who had ALL the mounts so I could get a feel for how "bad" the vibes can actually get.

Discuss....

The JBR PMM's are nice, I have the 80, which may be a little loud for normal DD purposes, but is still tolerable with some music blasting. If I had to start over I would get the 75.

You'll have vibes with any aftermarket MM.

Honestly, in my opinion JBR mounts are top notch, I've got 88dm dogbone, best mod to date.

Urethane filled rear mount makes you run 11's.

No matter what I decide, the mount will DEFINITELY be from JBR. Just want to know if I should upgrade to JBR dogbone or if I should just add the JBR PMM and keep the 80 billet?

I already tried the 70d and apparently was not enough for the abuse I put it through. So ended up with the 80d.

Now that I have gotten around to going to the track, I realize I may need the 88d. But wondering if adding the PMM will give me the results I'm looking for... Less drive train slop...

The fastest MS3 here is running 11's on stock mounts so not looking for it to make me faster lol, but instead looking for the mounts to last while being tolerable.

I would like to thing that since I love the 80d for DD the 88 won't be "over the top" so to speak.

Swap to the dogbone. I had the cpe 75 and after a while it got sloppy. Didn't tear just not stiff enough. Installed PMM 80 with the cpe in and vibes were crazy. Swapped to dogbone one week later and vibes didn't change just got more solid feeling up front. Now after about 4000 miles vibes are fine. GF the kids and the dog all fall asleep on long drives still. Swap them. BTW I also autox this car every month so my mounts see a lotta abuse/work. Swap them. Vibes be damned!

Do the dogbone first, IMO. It won't increase vibes much over what you have now, and if gives you what you're looking for, then you're done. If you still need more, add the PMM.

I had a similar experience and outcome as beachshoer, but I did the mounts in a different order. I went from stock to Corksport RMM inserts (felt like stock) to JBR dogbone, and the vibes increased noticeably but not dramatically. Then I added the JBR PMM and vibes increased dramatically. Kids and wife noticed, but still sleep (maybe better, more white noise) on long drives. I therefore decided that the best performance/vibes ratio was to be had with just the JBR dogbone RMM, and that might be the sweet spot for a DD.

Once you get there and decide you still need more drivetrain control, that knowledge will make it psychologically easier to justify/live with the add'l vibes that will come with the PMM. After that, you might as well add in the TMM, because race car.

One odd way to calibrate the additional vibes is that I've found myself increasing the volume on the radio by two steps consistently since I added the PMM. I don't know if that helps at all, but it's what I've found.

^^^Thanks man, path you chose is similar to mine actually.

Bought the car with CS inserts>JBR 70d >JBR 80d and now want more. So it looks like I'm moving up to the JBR dogbone.

So you would say upgrade to dogbone from 80d and then add the PMM?
