Default Forge BPV v1 / v2 confusion

So i just purchased my forge bpv, which i was thinking was a v2. After talking to my buddy he is pretty sure it's a v1.

My question is why are there so many part numbers that are different and why would they sell the v1 on most sites when the v2 apparently fixes a lot of the issues? (zelda sword)

The one on Edge: https://edgeautosport.com/forge-moto...wrx-2008-2014/

And then the one on SU: https://www.streetunit.com/Forge_ByP...fmdvmaz3-s.htm

Now I'm pretty sure the Edge one is considered a v1, and SU would be a v2. However, did they possibly come out with an updated v1 that got the same benefits the v2 did? Or did I just order a v1 lol

Thanks for the help

For anyone wondering or for future use, I was able to get in contact with a few people and found out what's going on.

The "v1" that they sell now is actually a second generation v1. Updated with some minor adjustments to fix some of the issues the OG v1 had.
You can still find the v2 some places, but the v1 gen 2 bpv is mostly sold and they supposedly like that design better and found a workaround.

I have version 2 pull type(no sword clashing sound) and i like it better! it holds boost much better than push type.I bought it directly to forge motorsports.

I got that exact one on edge, pretty confident that it was a v2, and it clinks like shit. I can't do it. $166 paper weight.

If anyone has a part # for the STEALTH forge bpv, please end this and share it. Thanks.

FWIW the OEM bypass valve has been shown to hold boost about 2 psi better than Forge at up to a bit over 20 psi according to Grass Roots Motorsports Magazine. And since 20 psi is above the efficiency map of the K04 at higher rpm, you are just buying a noisy paperweight unless you are going big turbo.

And for God’s sake you engine will thank you to run any valve in recirc mode. This is a MAF controlled engine and metered air needs to go back into the engine, not farted to atmosphere.
