| Not Ranked : 0 score so I wonder if looking at the toyota PI/DI system in the BRZ/FR-S would be of any use... at all. I know the port injectors flow around 200cc, meaning they are probably used as valve cleaners more than anything.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Alright...so I did do some work on the car this past week end. Not much though, mounted the controller, and routed and connected the wires. I am up to the fuel pump and regulator install, not sure which route I am going, but I have to make up my mind before the weather changes since I do not want to be stuck in the garage working on this while the weather is nice..

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score It has been a while since the last update. I have completed the install, and have driven about 100 miles and went wide open about 6 times with this. For a base line rich map in the AIC, this is one nice set up. I should have done this before ever installing the meth injection. Although water/meth has its place in a turbo application, this is a far superior fuel delivery system. I installed the FPR behind the small battery box I fabbed a while back, the bracket it is bolted to is actually the stock mount for the OEM battery box. I only have a mechanical gauge to set base pressure right now, my next step is to install an actual in cabin pressure gauge so I can keep tabs on the fueling. I have a boost pressure switch installed on the pre-I/C side of the piping to pull in the fuel pump relay. I put it pre I/C because that pipe will see the boost before the intake manifold will, in turn activating the pump with enough time to pressurize the system. I also installed an LED in the dash on the output side of the relay just to let me keep tabs on the pump circuit. The boost switch is made by Design Flex, it is a very robust high quality switch with a 10 million cycle life, and it can be end user adjustable. It has a burst pressure of 300psi and can be set to engage from 1 - 25psi. Fabbing up the bracket for the cell. I used the mount for the spare tire and built a battery box type clamping device to hold the cell in place. I used all 1/8" angle and lined it with a rubber gasket to keep everything isolated from vibrations. Built a false floor and a simple wooden box around the exposed fuel cell. Not sure if I like this, I might end up forming up some aluminum sheet metal and then covering it with carpet, but it will do for now Dropped the lines to bulk head fittings through the trunk floor, added a fuel filter. By using the bulk head fittings it keeps the lines tucked up close to the under body. The filter breather on the vent line. One thing I found out the hard way is the lines that run inside the hatch area has to be ran with Teflon core hose. I ran them first with standard Aeromotive -6, this will permeate the fumes from the fuel, not good when the car sits for a few hours. I have since swapped out the lines with the correct ones after these pics were taken. For tuning right now, I pulled 3° of timing out of the ignition tables until I get the AFR's ironed out with the PI. I am also running pump gas in the cell right now until I make sure everything is right with the system. I am going to the speed shop this week to pick up some 112 octane and I will slowly bring the tuning back up to where it was with the 1100cc's of meth...LOL!!

Why 112 instead of E85?

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Too far away, the closest station is about 45 mins in the opposite direction of anywhere I drive. But, 112 I can get on the way home from work. Trust me, I would love to run E instead of the costly race gas...it's just not feasible.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Are you not concerned with the breather filter getting wet and grimy where its mounted? I suppose its probably the only location close enough to provide proper venting. I could just imagine you running a vent tube up through the C pillar and have a snorkel under your wing or have it vent behind the OEM gas tank filler door

The OEM filler door option is something to think about, I like that idea. I had thought about adding a charcoal canister and plumbing that back through the stock purge valve, but I do not know for sure what that would do to the tuning side of things. These are some of the things I will improve on later this summer, and I am sure there will be other ideas pop up as I run the system longer.

| Not Ranked : 0 score SD Fuel Cell 2.0 lol good chit Scott. I think the fuel door is the best option if there is enough room in there and fairly easy to implement. maybe a longer skinner filter that would mount over the top of the filler neck.

| Not Ranked : 0 score What about running the vent to the stock EVAP system. This way when the car is off and sitting your fuel is not evaporating in to thin air and wasting money. The vacuum from the stock system will also help keep the water vapour out of the system. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Yes, that is a great idea! Nothing like having $10 a gallon fuel just evaporate into thin air. I have some other things I have to do first, but once those are cleared up I will put the car on the lift and see what I can do.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Awesome to see this, I'm stealing ideas from yours for my PI install on the Flex ![]() One thing to consider, you can buy 55 gallon drums of E85 and store at your house with a cheap pump. If you delta the price between 112 and E85 it would be worth the inital expense over the long haul. Locally 112 is $10+ a gallon, E85 is $3.50 wholesale. $192 for a 55 gallon fuel drum of E85 vs $550+ for the 112 taken little bits at a time. ![]() Another option, make your own E85 in your back yard! ![]() Build a 3-inch ethanol fuel still

Not as clean as the OP (btw, very nice job IMO) but its what he brought me to work with and how he wanted it. We are running 4 Fuel Injector Clinic 1100cc Injectors and I modded the in tank basket to run a double pumper setup. 2 DW 65c. They are both running full time, direct wired. We ran the OEM feed line, Tee-d in the engine bay to the port system (Distribution rail hidden under rad core support) then returned back into the into the tank from the FPR. So you have same base pressure for your port and your DI. Last I head from him a few weeks ago, he was at 36-37psi on T3 HTA 3582. He runs 50/50 Emix and has the DI and Port running at ~75% IDC right now.

I do not drive in the rain or snow, this is not my DD, so other than a few bugs, it rarely gets dirty. Trust me, I drive the hell out the car in the warm months. The progress is about as far as it is going on this. Other than a filter breather for the standalone fuel cell relocate, I am probably at the end of modifying. From here on out I will concentrate on tuning and see how far this fueling lasts. LOL!! I will have you know that I drove to the east coast nator meet in 7.5 hours of rain!!! I then spent about $6 and 3 hours at the car wash when I arrived.
