(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Well after my last car I said this one wouldn't be heavily modded but oh well. Meeting the guys from CP-e and spending time with them and partying my face off with Josh on New Years things changed. I sold a few of my non-CP-e parts and replaced them with the remaining bolt ons I didn't have. So now that I am fully bolted I hopefully won't do more haha. I decided to rip into my motor this weekend and clean it out. Create my own pcv system and remove / add a few other things to improve upon it. Pictures will start it. ![]() I started by tearing out everything I didn't need in there so that I could get to the areas I wanted to. I removed the EGR system and put a plate from whoosh in. I saw how gross the inside of my intake manifold was I removed the stock PCV and made my own setup which will lead to a SM Catch Can. ![]() I took out the VCTS as well and while I was plugging the 1/2" NPT whole in the intake manifold where the EGR recirculated into it I thought it would be a great location for my meth nozzle. I happened to have an 1/2" Male NPT to 1/4" female NPT fitting laying around so that is where my Meth nozzle will go! I need to finish mounting it up in the trunk and running all the wires and then I will run 100% distilled water for a while. My only concern is how small the spot I am spraying into is. We shall see though I guess. ![]() More to come once I finish everything. I am going to spend Monday and Tuesday trying to tie things up. PS. Thank you to Josh and Jordan from CP-e and Jason from P3 and Whoosh. I will be running the car in March most likely and seeing what we can do. My buddy Carlos down in PR may be making me a manifold soon - hopefully I can resist that urge!

| Not Ranked : 0 score I agree with your concern about spraying the H2O through that narrow and long EGR passage ... I can see a lot of the mist condensing to water on the walls ...

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Haha ya. Well - i dont consider this heavily modded though. Seriously. Its got a lot of bolt ons but thats not big modding. Big modding would be running a twin scroll gt42, window spray of nitrous to get me in boost, a 3rd gear that gets me to 130mph, and a few other things i want to do haha.

| Not Ranked : 0 score that seems like a good idea but am skeptical of the egr narrow passage id really think it would be more effectively cooling if it were to be mounted like this:http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...ng-thread.html

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I drilled and tapped that already. I put a plug in as well so I can switch. I don't think the EGR will work either but its fun to try new things. I didn't have to drill the EGR spot so no reason not to try. If it doesnt work I just put a 1/4" NPT plug in.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I can see the potential in putting the WI in this spot. If there is enough pressure behind the nozzle then it might do a good enough job mixing with intake air. One thing to consider is a loooong nozzle that puts it further into the EGR port. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score If your gonna mock up a spray example, might want to hook up a leaf blower to your TB flange to simulate intake air, and also, if you want to get real technical, figure out a way to simulate the valves opening. The egr passage does seem narrow, but give it a try man, and see how it works.

| Not Ranked : 0 score i do not think this is a good place to spray. it will atomize a lot better if it is directly in the path of the air. also i don't think you give the mixture enough time to cool the air. i have other reasons but i need to go outside and have a smoke. a cool idea, but i don't think it will be optimal. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score You would be much better off if you relocated your nozzle. It is certain that you are going to have a considerable amount of your injected mist coalesce on the long narrow walls of that passage. I would recommend that you inject just prior to the TB with the nozzle pointing in the direction of air flow if possible. I am going to locate my nozzle in the rubber hose between my stock TMIC and the TB with the nozzle aiming straight at the TB. This should minimize how much mist coalesces on the walls. My background is chemical engineering, and I have dealt with nozzles in industrial applications (for whatever that is worth).
