Default Prosport Gauge Illumination Issue

This weekend I finally got around to installing my Prosport boost, OP, and OT gauges. The boost and OT gauges are the performance series (without peak warning), and the OP is a premium series (with peak warning). I followed this thread: General Aftermarket Gauge install wiring or more specifically the original post as well as post #5 . the boost and OT gauges follow the first post, while the OP gauge follows the #5 post (red wire is spliced into the #37 D/Lock 2 circuit).
In ignition on (2 clicks) position everything works as it should. The gauges are white with lights off, and amber with lights on, and they will change back and forth without issue.

Problem (1): In key on (1 click that sends power to the stereo alone), the boost and OT stay white no matter what I do with the headlights while the OP stays off.

Problem (2): If the car is started with headlights on "auto", the boost and OT gauges stay white regardless of headlights while OP changes as it should. If the car is started with headlights switched to "off" and then the headlights are switched to "auto" all gauges work as they should.

Additional notes: I cannot wire the boost and OT the same way as the OP since the OP requires a constant power source for its peak and beep preference memory. If I ran the boost and OT power like the OP, they would stay on indefinitely. If I ran the OP like the boost and OT, it will blow out my eardrums with that obnoxious beeping every time I get in the car.

I believe that covers all the bases. Has anyone encountered this before and can anyone offer any advice? I know I saw a genwon at ENM this year that had the same setup as me with 2 performance gauges and 1 premium. Thanks guys.

So I called Prosport and spoke with a technician who said it's a possibility that the performance series gauges can't detect auto headlights. Anyone out there with performance series gauges have any input to this?
