| Not Ranked : 0 score The OEM camera is 6V vs the Aftermarket 12V, Will not work in that way I recommend that you only connect to the radio the Video signal and take the voltage for the backup camera from the reverse light I did something similar to my CX-7 2010 |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score KBEZON: Are you saying to only hook up the video wires from the camera to the radio and not to connect the ground or the power. Then to ground the camera and tap it into the reverse wire for power? If so where do the 2 video wires hook up to the factory DVD/Navigation player. Thank you !! |

| Not Ranked : 0 score You have to connect the video and the signal ground of the camera too the ones that you have to connect are the 12v for the camera power All the video conector ( yellow) ( inside 2 wires goes to the system) Due I swap my display into a Navigation monitor instead of the no camera, I welded the 2 video wires inside the Display ( an extension female video cable) |

| Not Ranked : 0 score The radio that has the video there is the one that has screen on the radio the "regular radio" does not have any video input you will have to solder the wires directly into the Message Center module for Backup camera ( I did in this way) |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So I tried hooking up the camera and when in reverse I can use the video cable and see the image on my video camera when I hooked up the RCA. So I know the rear camera works. I tried just connecting the video cable to the head unit and nothing. I ran a converter from the camera and reduced it to 6v then used the power and ground on the back of the radio and still nothing. Please help!! |

| Not Ranked : 0 score ok, the camera has to be plugged in to the radio (only for video) to the reverse light (under kick panel driver side), to the voltage (because OEM is 6v and aftermarket is 12v) and to the ground. Are you using aftermarket cables to wire the camera or some sort of OEM wiring? The cables need to be plugged in the back of the unit on the 4-pin connector (there's only one). Let me know which cables are you using and i can guide you.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I installed something similar into my car. You need to plug the video RCA (i suppose that the radio has the adaptor) and the trigger (this one is important cause it send the signal to the radio that you put reverse) So... you install the camera and plug the RCA to the radio adaptor and you have to find a wire that sends you 12V to the radio camera trigger. In my case, the camera that i bought had the RCA and trigger in a same cable so i have to find a path to trace the cable from back to the front. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Is relative... it depends of the radio model that you bought, do you have a screen shot of the wire diagram of the radio conector? or maybe in the top of the radio theres some diagram? |

Now... you need a radio that support that kind of camera, because the Mazda signal is not the same as RCA, so if you install that OEM kind of camera and you try to plug into a mazda radio it probably doesnt gonna work or you can burn something | |
