Default 'Relentless Performance' FMIC

Has anyone bought one of these? I know you get what you pay for... I'm mostly wondering about piping fitment. Although any experience with this or advice is appreciated. I'm only planning on using it for the stock turbo. I'd like to pick up a reasonably priced FMIC asap that isnt a complete custom job.

That will fit exactly the same as a cxracing FMIC.

Fine for what? What are you trying to achieve? (You're right, the cxracing IC core won't cause your car to blow up. But are you seeking performance gains, lower BATs, higher boost, less lag, what?)

You'll find this opinion in other threads, but if you're running stock turbo an FMIC is probably overkill and will only introduce turbo lag. Since the main advantage of the K04 is its quick spool, the combination of K04+FMIC kind of gets you the worst of both worlds.

Since bigger turbos spool later anyway, losing turbo lag with an FMIC is considered an acceptable compromise. It's not like you're going to get lots of low-RPM boost on a G35.

You're better off running an upgraded TMIC to reduce the airflow restriction of the stock IC. If, after doing this you find you still need lower BATs, spray meth or run E85.

Off topic here but that test car they show in the ebay listing is a weird color of purple.

Im thinking of getting this too to be honest. I know alot of people running the CX racing and they always compare it to this kit, its price is more affordable and down the road i can just upgrade the core if i do decide to go BT.

that core is tiny, outside of esthetics is a waste of money imo. Get a treadstone IC and the protege garage piping kit. Will yield better performance and cooling.

Ok. I will prob go with the protege piping kit and a treadstone intercooler...i'll just have to pick up a bpv unless the stock one is good enough for 18 psi-ish. And buy good enough I meant wont get heat soaked, isnt too big, low pressure drop, and good flow. I dont mind a little more lag for a cooler air charge. def worth a the trade off to me. Thanks guys.

Get an upgraded top mount if you're staying k04.

Well I am for atleast 6-9 months. Got a ride in a guys gt3076 pwr'd speed3 this weekend in phx and Its only a matter of time before I end up doing the same. Damn that thing pulled hard. Thats why I think I'll just do the front mount now... or is that a bad idea... decisions, decisions... I suppose I could get a used bigger top mount and then when I go bigger turbo down the road just sell of the top mount. hmm

So after hearing what people had to say on here and talking to others I went with the CP-E tmic. Down the road when I go with a bigger turbo I will go with a FMIC. But for now I hear stay with a top mount.
