how much boost can a stock ms3 hold

sorry if this has been covered i have been looking everywhere but simply i want to know how much my 2007 ms3 can hold as far as boost before. i want to know where a good place to ride daily and where i can be if i need a little extra power if anyone would help it would be much appreiciated. i just got it the thing has a hks bov and some ebay manual boost controller and i just want to know where i need to set it incase the idiot i got it from didnt know what he was doing.

i think safest u can run without blowing eventually on an aftermarket turbo would be 18 psi, a stock turbo u can do 20 all day because its a piece of shit and dont really push air at 20 psi

OP buys a first year MS3 with an HKS bov, probably running VTA, and has a manual boost controller both from the prior owner(s). I have a feeling the car has been seriously abused already. Probably marginal at stock boost levels now. I predict early fail.

However, OP needs to get that damn MBC off of the car and understand that unless in the very careful hands of someone who knows wtf he is doing, mbc is not the way to go on this car.

I would respectfully ask OP to do two things:

(1) Take that car to a good shop and get a compression test done on each cylinder along with a test to see what boost level he presently has and whether he has a boost leak anywhere.

(2) if that bov is set up VTA, get the correct recirc tube and plumb that thing back into the intake like it belongs.

And if the newbie had done any effort at searching (which he obviously has NOT) he'd know that the stock turbo turns into a heat furnace at 18 psi at any rpm above about 5,800 rpm, and that an MBC is not going to dial boost back at higher rpm, nor will it know the difference between when the engine is under load and when it is not, and will not be able to save the turbo or the engine, therefore leading to zoom, zoom, boom. MBC for anything other than temporary short term track (drag strip use limited to 18 psi) use is, to me, good prescription for disaster.

i run, 5psi on my stock turbo, and i haven't had any issues, but boy do i feel a massive surge of power... i tried the water gas method as well and that didn't quite make a difference.
have you tried to cut holes in your air box? more air feeding to the turbo to make more air flows, and more power?

I hold 20psi for a little bit then drop down to 18-19 psi to redline

So here;s what I think: The stock block will be just fine all day long with 30PSI and a flat ignition table with -7 degrees of advance in all cells
Yes, the exhaust valves will not be ok, the turbo will work the hell out of itself, but since some stupid asses care only about boost then here it is, an even more stupid answer.
