Default Gasohol?
Is the bullshit ethanol + gasoline that I am putting in my car ultimately robbing me of power? More importantly is is cause knock which sends my knock retard sensor warning on my DH apeshit?

I wish I could find 100% 93 octane gasoline without this tree hugging hippy save the earth stuff in it.

The only way ethanol will cause knock is if you run to lean (due to ethanol requiring more fuel flow to run at the same power level). Ethanol itself will improve power and eliminate knock as long as you have the fuel system to support it. I actually want larger injectors and fuel pump to switch to E85 to run more boost on street gas!!!

Tree hugging hippy?!?!?! B.S. man. There's HP to be had with ethanol!!!

Alright well then I retract my post. Still I dont care for people who want to save the world.

What could be causing my knock then? Like Ill be sitting in 3rd gear at 30mph going about 2500rpm with the cruise control on. All of the sudden my DH is like "KNOCK KNOCK MOTHER FUCKER" and I have to blip the go pedal for it to kind of go away.

All of us get "knock" while cruising. It's nothing to worry about unless you get the same knock at wot.

Who knows, it's possible its not "REAL" knock. Noone really knows what's going on with the knock sensor in these cars.

most don't knock when driving hard, its only while crusing. its fine and nothing to worry about.

ha yeah why would anyone use cruise control at those speeds.

oh and those wanting to use e85, its actually funny that this gas is now more expensive than 93 octane being that it was supposed to be the cheap alternative.

It's all about where you're located. In the central plains states, where we grow corn, it's cheaper because our state government doesn't tax the hell out of it like other states do.

I have noticed that with 100% gasoline I get 24.5-25 mpg and with 10% max ethanol mix my mileage drops to 21-22 mpg. I might be psychological but I feel the car runs better on gasoline as well.

You sir are correct. Your gas mileage will drop when you run an Ethanol mix. Another thing people don't seem to understand is that higher octane levels don't improve your power it just allows your engine to make a power level more safely. When my other car was tuned safe on 93 any time I ran at the strip and put in a little race gas it lost MPH. Your car is meant to run on 91 and tuned for it by the factory so that is what it will run best with. All we have in 93 around here and I wish I could get some 91 just to see if it makes it run better.

He is smokin buds and doesn't want to alert the cops by driving eradically. I turn my cruise control on 35 all the time, just for that reason.
