Default EBCS Noise

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed that their electronic boost controller noise is more prominent when the engine is cold? I have a MSP6 for what it's worth.

I have recently had an S4 & 3.5" intake installed and still getting used to all the noises that this setup brings. One thing I am still struggling with is the GrimmsSpeed EBCS noise that is mounted on the firewall.

When the car is cold I cannot hear a peep (denser air maybe) but as soon as the engine gets up to temperature I can hear the fluttering sound. Is this normal?

Thanks

Its perfectly normal for you to hear clicking sounds from the EBC. Remember it is an on/off actuated unit so the the clicking is telling you its cycling. Mounting location plays a big role in how much you hear it, but to be honest you'll get used to it fairly quickly. I have mine on the firewall as well and barely notice it anymore.

Do you mean a fluttering sound from your bov?

No I mean the flutter of air being controlled by the EBCS. I have managed to quieten it by adding some rubber washers and a piece of foam. It's all good, I am used to it now. I only really hear it in 1st & 2nd gear. Once I get up to the high rpms the other noises take over!

1st world problems eh?

I mounted my EBCS to the bracket that holds the TIP to the engine. There's plenty of rubber between there and the passenger compartment.
