Default Corksport FMIC

Ok so i put on the FMIC and im not really that happy with it. First off the thing needs ALOT of adjusting to get it to fit right. The throttle body hose clamps will not fit. The battery tray now push up against the inlet pipe. The stock tmic cover pushes up against the hot pipe which pushes up against the ecu black cover tray. The ram intake design sits to high and needs to be literally bent to have the hood closed. Theres no threads on the bov flang. Part of the bumper understray will not fit cause you have to cut the bumper to make it fit, which im not willing to do. One of the pipes rests against the rad in two spots. Overall the fit of this thing SUCKS.

Ok so i finish it up and go to start it, starts stumbles and dies. WTF theres no leaks, i try again and again and it eventually starts. Car warmed up and idled fine. Took for a drive and it drives a lil different. Kind of liek on on off switch right were you begin to build boost. The car boosts 17psi and holds it. With the ets it hit 19 and held it...
Drove about 15-20 miles so far not problems really. Car feels strong, but im just not happy with it. Well c if i get any lean codes liek others have reported.

Overall if i knew what i knoiw now, i would have kept my top mount.

sorry for your misfortune, but you've confirmed everything that I was worried about with this kit. corksport seems to be really on top of things quality-wise, but when I learned that the MAF housing was larger than stock on this kit, I started really wondering if other things weren't up to snuff as well. I think I am going to stick with the top mount until someone gets a much better front mount solution going.

I went to an FMIC on my VW. It was originally SMIC. I never got it just right. Fitting was a bit off and I was always jostling pipes around and tightening clamps to try and get it right. I never got it. I put the SMIC back on and just dealt with the heatsoak.

That's crazy, Laloosh.. you sure you have it in right? Mine doesn't hit anywhere and the only place it's tight is near the A/C pulley(about an inch).
Mine never stumbled at start-up, no CEL, no nothing! It's far smoother than stock.. This is how the car should have come from the factory. I absolutely couldn't be more pleased with the system. I did have to trim the black TMIC cover just a hair to clear the pipe, but that was it.

The car flat out did not want to idle starting it the frist 2 or 3 times. There are no leaks. The piping doesnt fit right. Im 100% every is installed correct. Ive spent 8 total hours on this fucking with it every which way managable and still nothing. I mean all they gotta do is provide coupler that are a lil longer and all my problems would be solved. You have any underhood shots? When i get home tonight ill take pictures of the "problem areas"

I'm driving my Suburban today so I don't have access to any quick shots. I can snap some when I get home if you'd like.. Let me know specifically what you want to see and I'll post it, or e-mail it to you. I'm sure you know what you're doing, but it does sound like something is off. Mine is a perfect fit.

I was worried about the MAF housing as well including that i would most likely have to change the BPV. I guess the real test will be at the track, BUT.. i bet it looks cool as hell.

No, it's not hitting the ECU cover/battery tray or the TMIC cover. I have about an inch between the pipe and ECU cover and about 2 inched between the pipe and TMIC cover, but I did trim back the cover.

Just feel it out, I think most of us who are neutral on x brand parts are too quick to give a thumbs down. While other who are brand fanbois are too quick to give the thumbs up.

Guess yours is laid out different from mine. I had no issues with fitment. I sprayed soapy water to check for leaks once it did idle. I did have an issue starting mine at first and it stay running but once the ecu learned it was fine.

soapy water would not bubble even with a gigantic leak. just fyi. there is no pressure in the system at an idle.

Oh, mine doesn't hit in the back corner of the TMIC cover like yours does. Did you try pushing the pipe a little deeper? I don't like how that sounds.

same thing as the cpe intake. The maf is smaller then the surrounding piping. Ill knife edge the silicone to make it as smooth as possible. Well there goes my day tomorrow.

I haven't had any issues with mine no CEL's. Have you called them with your issues? They are a great company they will work with you if you ask.

Im just glad my fujita still works with the txs fmic. It was alot simpler install once I knew what I was in for. The corksport Chris is running was gonna go on my car but I wanted to run my intake and I was running a forge. He made it work. Though I did bolt it on and no problems. WEIRD

Atleast its pulling hard. Hopefully its not running lean. Ill get the dh back asap.

Did you email CS and ask/let them know about their MAF housing being too big?
